Nintendo Explains Why They Have Removed Reviews From eShop

We reported earlier today that Nintendo has decided to remove reviews from the eShop despite the feature only being available for a couple of days. Polygon contacted Nintendo America to find out what they’re planning to do and received the following response.

“Nintendo.com recently offered a trial customer review feature to let users share feedback about Nintendo Switch games on our website. The response has been positive, and Nintendo appreciates the time and effort that reviewers put into their thoughtful commentary on the games. Nintendo has removed this feature as we evaluate the future of the ratings functionality on Nintendo.com. We have no estimate on when an update will be provided on the status of this initiative, but we appreciate the enthusiasm shown for the trial.”

    1. My guess is they did it to gauge the reactions to games and the amount of reviews they would receive. More so a test just to collect data to help them make a more educated guess.

  1. User reviews are way better than that Nintendo Seal of Quality.
If the Seal of Quality got it’s chance, I think they will still give User Reviews it’s chance… It will return…
    After Avengers Infinity War!
