    1. not just for multiplayer its a more comfortable controller to begin with. I always like to call it the 2.0 version of the snes controller wich is the best controller a Nintendo console ever used , i never saw the reason to change this.

      1. I never have any issue’s with that to be honest? I can play mutiple nights in a row , on top of that you can play wired. You can charge it whenever the console is turned of , in low power mode or when watching blu ray’s / netflix even. Did you ever play the first gameboy that used real batteries that stopped after one playtrough of a few hours? You can even buy longer charging cables so you can sit anywhere really.

        1. Bullshit. I couldn’t even play Modern Warfare Remaster past 5 hours straight since it’s full charge. DS4 battery life is a joke.

      2. I do have the ps4 slim btw it has a upgraded controller maby yours is the old version. I wanted to see if Nintendo would make a real console first so I waited out what the switch would be than bought the ps4 when e3 dissapointed me.

        1. No. I bought the gold Slim version which should have the quote “updated” controller but still lasts like crap, almost Wii U tier kind of crap.

    1. If I ever buy the switch wich is the second nintendo console I don’t own after the wii u I might not buy a pro controller since i already own the ps4 one. The pro is a good controller though also based on the snes controller just like the ps controller.

      1. The DS4 is decent, but far from perfect, specially those tiny share/options buttons and the horrible sticks. The tiny buttons might get a pass, but until they offset the stick and more importantly CONCAVE them, its not a go to controller to me.

    2. I have both, still think I prefer the ps4 controller.. However, I do like the weight of the pro controller

    1. Because its far nicer to use its based of the Snes/nes controller for a reason. This type of controller has been around for 30 years. Ofcourse the pro controller counts aswell but you would have to spend another 60 bucks if you dont own it better spend on games.

  1. lol why would i pay to go back 25 yrs with my controls

wanting to do this is like wanting to replace a Gordon Ramsay meal with a fresh DOG TURN
DUALSHOCK IS A UNCOMFORTABLE HORRID JOKE OF A CONTROLLER WITH MASSIVE LAG SHITE ANALOG STICKS AND NO USABLE 3D GYRO

Don’t mind him. He’s the residential highly obnoxious Nintendo fanatic that’s 100% devoted to Nintendo that he spouts about how mouse controls & other things are vastly inferior to Nintendo controllers with gyro controls & stuff. Me gets the feeling he’s never once left a Nintendo system long enough to explore other systems.

If you don’t care about HD Rumble or whatever and you prefer the DUALSHOCK 4 controller for whatever reason, this is for you. I might consider this for VC games if I get a new Switch as I quite like the DUALSHOCK 4 controller.

*went to the source* Holy shit! What MNN doesn’t tell us is that this sucker supports Windows, Mac, Android TV, Raspberry Pi, and Retrofreak devices. Yep! I’m getting this sucker next month!

  3. I think the article talked about the wrong controller. It says it would support the WiiU pro controller. That is awesome. This was a reason I haven’t got the switch. I love the dual top joy sticks for games with camera adjust, like Breath of the Wild or Splatoon. PS4 controller would be nice for platformers and fighting games. The Switch pro is great for games that attack more, like Hyrule Warriors, Sports and Racing games.
