During a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Curve Digital marketing director Rosemary Buahin expressed heaps of praise for both the Nintendo Switch console and community. Buahin, who was recently the head of PlayStation UK trade marketing, says she particularly likes how the console is a great fit for indie games and developers. No it did not. PS Vita is still chugging along (for now.) It’s pretty adamant about not going anywhere yet. Much like the 3DS refuses to go anywhere this year currently.

The only games we’ve heard that have sold better on Switch than other platforms have been indie games. Haven’t heard of many AAA games selling better on Switch than the competition. Not sure I’ve heard of any selling better on Switch than other systems yet.

I don’t consider Sonic triple A anymore. It’s double A at best since Sega has fucked it up at nearly every turn since Sonic ’06 which I’m assuming was the first horrible Sonic game. I’m all ears if you got news on something like Doom selling best on Switch. Oh and make sure it’s worldwide, not regional. Regional sales tend to be biased. UK is too pro-Sony, Japan is too pro-portable, etc.
A. It’s not about outselling other platforms when those are already established platforms.
B. Most the games that have come out from third parties have been old ports. If anything third parties aren’t looking to outsell other platforms with old games.
If they do outsell other platforms then GREAT! But I’m sure third parties are only looking to make back the porting costs and some profits.
A lot of studios/publishers from indie to AAA have come forward and said sales have been good to great on the Switch.
At this point almost everything is selling really well on the Switch. From old games to New games.
People just want a game library to play wherever whenever with whoever. That is a tremendous selling factor to A LOT of people including myself.
I spend almost a couple hundred a month on games depending what hits the eShop/retail for the very reason I have already stated.

Don’t bother. Many here just saw the word PlayStation & assumed some giant conspiracy ignoring the word former or the fact the person talking is an indie developer. This place tends to be rife with anti-Sony people that some are so hateful they can’t see past their own bias.

Since she’s a former Sony PlayStation employee, apparently she is secretly insulting the Switch in favor of Sony in spite of the fact she works for an indie developer now & has a right to say something like this as she is a indie developer with some experience in the Switch being good for indie games.

Wrong. Japanese games have been selling well. I thought Xenoverse 2 outsold the PS4 version in Japan. Isn’t that an AAA game?

That’s how I remember my Wii in it’s last years: nothing but Netflix, more Netflix, and even more Netflix. That’s what my Wii U was slowly becoming, too, before I broke the Gamepad & moved on to PS4 when the fact I needed two Gamepads, one for each Wii U, pissed me off & I finally had enough of Nintendo always being a gen behind the competition in some way. It’s not like there were many Wii U exclusives that held my attention for long, anyway, & the ones that did were censored to hell & back in ‘Murica by those rejects at Treehouse! Switch seems to be more of the same right now. The only difference is least the Switch had a new Zelda, a new Mario, a new Xenoblade that wasn’t just a big giant world with a shitty, short story, & a new Warriors game using a Nintendo franchise. Oh & Metroid and Pokemon on the way. Still see the same shitty ass online, weakest current gen home console (well second weakest since the Wii U is weaker and is in the same gen,) and doing everything they can to give crappy voice chat because they don’t have the balls to ignore the soccor mom nutjobs too damn lazy to parent their own bloody damn kid. Paid online better be good. If it’s not, I honestly don’t know when I’ll be getting another Switch to replace the one I’ve lost. Least I got the PS4 & the n3DS (for now) to keep me happy in the video game department til next gen when hopefully Nintendo isn’t so far behind the others.

Lacks third party? Rocket League, Doom, L.A Noire, FIFA, NBA, Payday, Skyrim, Sonic, Rayman, Outlast, Resident Evil and coming soon/rumored: GTA5, Dark Souls Trilogy remastered, Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot N-Sane, Wolfenstein 2. Keep in mind: ALL of these are within it’s first year with more coming. I’ve seen more serious 3rd party support on Switch than Wii/PiiU and even the GameCube COMBINED in such short time.
