Psyonix Targeting Full 1280×720 (Handheld) For The Rocket League Nintendo Switch Tournament Update

The team over at Psyonix have announced today that they are planning to bump up the resolution in Rocket League. They are aiming for 1280×720 when users play the game in handheld mode. This will be included once the Tournaments Update is released. The Nintendo Switch docked target with the Tournaments Update will 1920×1080. The team will also be adding video capture to the game once the update is released on April 3rd.

“60fps across the board with dynamic resolution. If you’re more into detail and less about those extra frames, enabling ‘Quality’ will cap the fps at 30 and lock the resolution at 1920×1080 (docked) or 1280×720 (handheld). Quality Mode also enables several graphics features automatically, including Lens Flares, Light Shafts, Dynamic Shadows and Depth of Field”

  1. I’ll probably try toggling it to see how things feel. While I’ll probably still stick with the performance mode I’m glad that more and more developers are giving users the option of what’s more important to them.
