Bill Trinen Says Some Of Nintendo’s E3 2018 Plans Will Be Revealed This Month

Polygon recently caught up with Nintendo’s Bill Trinen to find out what the esteemed company has planned for E3 which takes place this June. Trinen wasn’t prepared to dish out all the details but he said that the company has many announcements to share regarding Nintendo’s E3 schedule and most of these will be revealed this month.

“We want to have an event that showcases a really high level of play. We want it to be fun for the players, fun for the fans in attendance and for those streaming at home. We want to have matchups that people want to see.”

“Trinen also said that the Smash Bros. tournament will be aimed at both casual and longtime Nintendo fans. Trinen noted that with Splatoon 2’s matches, he believes that the spectator mode will make things easy to follow.”

“Finally, Trinen said that there “many” announcements to come regarding Nintendo’s E3 programming. Fans can look forward to hearing more in the next month or so.”

    1. I would say this looks ok but some stuffs today would be false lol like if I said Metroid for Switch is not just “prime 4” but also in the works is dread :p

    1. It sucks but cronotose is right. The moment I saw there were anti-gravity sections in MK8 on Wii U, I was “Well there goes one less reason to do F-Zero which uses anti-gravity for racing. Won’t be long before a Mario Kart introduces lightning fast racing modes & there goes F-Zero’s second biggest difference from the Mario Kart franchise.”

  1. It would be nice if Nintendo didn’t have a Minute Presentation of like only 25 minutes this year, and that they had more than 2 (technically 4 if you include those announced to be in development) First Time Announcements. Before E3 they should officially announce the Next Pokemon games.

    1. I praise that this letter will’ve been seen of: http://aminoapps.com/p/dt50pgw

Luckily I gave Hideki Konno an early scoop of this letter to see before he comes over to E3 himself, which I sent the Nintendo Headquarters in Kyoto. I know I’ve said this before, but if the Next Official Mario Kart game can be announced to be in development at E3 this year, it would really make my day, then I’ll consider getting a Switch myself.

    2. “Before E3 they should officially announce the Next Pokemon games.”

They already have announced the next Pokemon games. They just haven’t given them titles yet.

  2. Nintendo usually announces something about their E3 plans at their full year earnings report at the end of April so I was kind of expecting to hear about it this month.

  3. Honestly, I hope Nintendo took a cue from the movie The Wizard & shows off the new Smash at the end of E3’s Smash Bros tournament for the finalists to compete against each other on. Give the people taking part in the tournament (and the ones viewing the tournament from right there in the building) to see the new Smash before the rest of us in the Nintendo E3 Direct. ESPECIALLY if the new Smash is actually new & not just a port.
