Atlus is getting ready to announce a new game in the established Etrian Odyssey series. The game will be announced on April 10th at 12:00 JST which is April 9th in North America. There will be a four-minute announcement happening on YouTube at the link here. The new Etrian Odyssey title will be for the Nintendo 3DS.
I know the userbase is still huge, and dual screen is the way to play rpg’s, but get that shit on the switch already.
It’s weird because Atlus is putting SMT on the Switch but not this?
User base isn’t as big as you think it is, because you’re assuming there is only 1 system per owner when most have at least 2, meaning the true install base is probably only slightly bigger than Switch’s. When sales bomb Atlus will realize their mistake and how the 3DS really has roughly 40 million install base.
This series is ill suited for the Switch since this series relied heavily on a second screen with touch controls since people can create their own map for each new floor they explore using said second touch controlled screen. This sadly could end up being a series that dies with the 3DS when it stops getting support.
I guess they could make a controller for Switch specifically for this that has a small touch screen. But I wonder how much that’d cost, though. And would enough people buy the game to warrant making a controller specifically for it?
