Another awards show brings some more good fortunes for Nintendo. The British Academy Game Awards, or BAFTA, has announced the winners who will be taking home trophies this year. Nintendo managed to take home 3 of them. Super Mario Odyssey won 2, with Breath Of The Wild winning 1. Both games were nominated for the “Best Game” category, but they lost to What Remains of Edith Finch. Here’s the list of winners:

Shitty indie game akin to Gone Home that probably got an award because someone slept with someone.

Hellblade because is a british game won almost everyting. AND WORST THAN THAT A FUCKING WALKING SIMULATOR WON GOTY AGAINST ACO, HORIZON, SMO, BOTW.
I saw the game on youtube a fucking joke thinking that game is better than those big true games.
So why not Farming or dating simulator win for 2019 against GOW, KH3 and Smash next time.
I doubt Hellblade won so many rewards because it was made by a UK company & the British rewards were giving it special treatment. It won 5 rewards but lost 4 so it’s definitely not because it’s a UK company. Otherwise, it would have won every single category it was in.

What Remains of Edith Finch, an indie game, won best game? The game must have something good about it if it beat out Super Mario Odyssey, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Horizon: Zero Dawn, & Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (another indie game but with a higher budget.) I had some interest in this game awhile back but lost that interest because of the price. Maybe I should give it a second look.
As for Hellblade, it’s definitely game of the show since it had the most nominations at 9 & won 5 of them. I’ve been holding out on this game for awhile in spite of being interested in it to this day (thanks to Game Informer’s few paged article on the game) because of how much work they put into researching mental illness and I’m curious to see how much they either listened to or disregarded said research.

How can a walking sim win best game? I don’t care how good the story or visuals are, it is a game that barely has any gameplay and lasts 2 hours should not be winning GOTY.
Video Game – a game played by electronically manipulating images produced by a computer program on a television screen or other display screen. This definition includes “walking simulators” & visual novels. So sorry but it definitely deserves to win such an award if enough people enjoyed the story & visuals and voted for it.
