Bandai Namco has revealed some unfortunate news today and that is that Dark Souls Remastered on the Nintendo Switch has suffered a delay. It’s not clear why the game has been delayed but the company says the game is now coming to the platform this summer. Dark Souls Remastered on other platforms will still be coming May 25th.
“The release date for the Nintendo Switch version has now been pushed back to this summer. Additionally, the Solaire of Astora amiibo has also been postponed with the same timeframe.”
This is fine. As long as they make the game playable at a steady FPS and not buggy.
Yes if it has to be delayed make sure it runs good at launch I’m all for more time in the oven when alot of devs these days are taking games out of the oven stone cold or lukewarm at best
This is some kind of logistical issue as the game has probably been ready to go for a month or two. As long as it doesn’t come out in July which is already ridiculously packed on Switch it’s ok
Don’t count on it. Simultaneous to the process of producing and shipping the game developers do the final touches to be implemented in the day one patch.
Chances are they weren’t happy with that patch, so they postponed the “day one” in order to improve it.
How many IMPORTANT games did the devs same excuse this year? Even on Bandai Namco UK twitter people claiming about they got paid by we know who again.
Well who next multiplatform will get delayed by the same excuse this year?
From what we’ve seen the game runs better than 360. Unless they are really determined to polish the life out it, there’s something else going on here.
Now we miss the opportunity to really gauge the market 1 to 1.
Dragon Quest XI got delayed too with the newer engine being blamed kinda odd all these delays
… Why? It’d be nice to get an explanation. Seemed like it was a really solid build from all the PAX reactions. I’m still going to wait for the Switch version, but this is pretty disappointing.

What the fuck bandai? If the game doesn’t sell well enough don’t complain, delays like this are terrible cause most gamers have other consoles and could buy in other platforms If they don’t wanna wait till summer

Very disappointed but oh well. Still got South Park and donkey kong., I wasn’t gna beat either of those by the time of release anyway lol you did me a favor bamco ! Now I don’t have to spend as much money this upcoming month
The game was runing in Blightown a good FPS, BLIGHTOWN. This is the man in a suit pulling strings behind the scene.
Why? two reasons:
1-Bandai want us to double dip, get the Switch version after we bough the PS4/One/PC version
2-Sony Pay Bandai to release the Switch version late, given how much momentum the Switch been getting, it would be bad for Sony if investors saw the Switch version of any 3rd party selling better on the Switch, hence the delay.
All speculations, but very possible, as we already had fotage of the game running in really stable condition, and if anything needed a fix, they could have updated the game later on the Switch.
Again, this is most likely the man on a suit doing changes.

Ugh sucks that Switch versions of games take much longer to release. I’m still gonna get this version but just a bummer!
