Nintendo is currently sponsoring a Nintendo Switch ad for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Samsung’s smart TVs. The sponsored ad displays the Nintendo Switch logo on the Smart Hub bar. When you click on it, a trailer for the game plays and then you are presented with an option to visit its website. There’s no word on when this particular ad will disappear, but it probably won’t be running for much longer. Originally released for Wii U in 2014, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze arrives this Friday, May 4, on Nintendo Switch.
I saw that yesterday and I was like “w” but I just thought it was random
This game is finally getting the attention it deserves
they’ll spend the $$ on advertising but won’t give a break to previous owners
It’s not on my Samsung. Must be random. Or maybe it’s only popping up for people that have a Switch hooked up to theirs?
I doubt that, Nintendo would not pay for Samsung to advertise on the TV when they can plaster starting screen of the switch with them.
