Fire Emblem Warriors Team Would Love To Work On A Sequel

Nintendo Dream recently published an interview with Hiroya Usuda and Yosuke Hayshi. Both of these individuals were involved in Fire Emblem Warriors on the Nintendo Switch. There’s plenty of insight to be read in the full interview but what is also interesting is that the team says that they would love to work on a sequel to the game. It’s not happening right now, but if it would be given the go-ahead by Nintendo, it sounds like both teams would jump at the chance.

“In terms of the development period, the project began at a time when the Nintendo Switch had not been revealed, Fire Emblem Heroes wasn’t released and Fire Emblem Fates had recently come out. Together with Nintendo and IS, it was nice to be associated with the Fire Emblem IP and stay close to it, while watching it grow bigger. Because of pressure, I worried if the game would play well, but since we were able to understand the audience, it was a very enjoyable project. We feel regret for the characters we were unable to include. If there’s the opportunity, I would love to make Fire Emblem Warriors 2, but that’s not something we’re working on right now. The Fire Emblem series itself has a long history. We’re also fans of Fire Emblem and we hope to support it in the future.”

      1. According to the sales charts I’m looking at for reference, it sold less than half a million. Which makes sense considering it’s niche, the backlash, and time of release in North America and Europe (which still have higher sales numbers than what it sold in Japan).

  1. I still think they should have concentrated on 1 of the games like awakening or fates.
They could have probably made 3 different games and have a bunch of DLC to those all.

  2. They better. They told me they where gonna put in Roy and Ike in a sequel. They should also put in Eirika (to represent Magvel) and Zelgius.

  3. Well at least they acknowledged the problem of the roaster, that game would have sold so much better with a proprer roaster. But if they increase the number of playable character I hope there aren’t too many clones,I really love how there are basically no clones in Hyrule Warriors

    1. All they said was that they were holding back on some characters (Ike and Roy) in anticipation of a possible sequel.

  5. I thought it was bad. I played it for one weekend and that was it. 2 player couch play is a joke! It’s broken. It’s like 10 fps with 1/4.of the enemies actually visible. If they can polish it a whole lot then yes.
