A New Breath Of The Wild Mod Is Making Zelda Playable

Modders have been hard at work for a special treat for Zelda: Breath Of The Wild players. Over 20 people are currently working on the Zelda Conversion Project. As the name suggests, it converts the game to have a playable Zelda. The team is not leaving any stone unturned. The title screen, journal entries, character animations, and more are being redone for Zelda’s appearance.  For now, the mod is being made for the Wii U version of the game, but the plan is to bring the mod to the Switch in the future.  As for a release date, there isn’t one at this time. However, Ainz, one of the project’s modders, said that “we plan on having an initial release really soon so it’s a bit of a secret”. Here’s a video that was uploaded by the team yesterday, which shows Zelda in action:

  1. I like to interpret the “Zelda” part of the title of this article to refer to the series, as opposed to the character. Makes it sound like a massive insult.

  2. I wish this were real as an official dlc. Playing as Zelda in a big open-world game like this would be fun.
