Did You Know Gaming: LEGO’s Cancelled Bionicle Game For Nintendo GameCube

Liam Robertson is at it again and has produced another in-depth video with the team at Did You Know Gaming? this time taking a look at LEGO’s cancelled Bionicle game which was supposed to coming out on both the GameCube and the PC.

LEGO Bionicle: The Legend of Mata Nui was being developed by Saffire Corporation, and was made as a PC game with later plans of porting the game to the Nintendo GameCube. The title would have directly taken place after the events of LEGO Bionicle: Quest for the Toa for the Game Boy Advance (GBA), which was also made by Saffire. The game was cancelled after new management was brought in at the LEGO company, who opted instead to work with Argonaur Games to create BIONICLE: The Game, which released not only on the PC and GameCube, but also on the PlayStation 2 (PS2) and Xbox.

    1. It would probably have to be a Lego toy theme before it could be made into a game. I have a feeling that we might soon get a Lego Mario theme, in the style of the Lego Minecraft sets. If that’s successful, there could be a video game adaptation. Zelda, on the other hand, could be a while. Nintendo seem a bit more reluctant to hand out that licence.

  3. Loved Bionicle so damn hard as a kid. Had all those first figures and their tiny versions as well, their card game, their board game, the first film and that lore-videogame (same kind of disc as the Gamecube’s when I think about it).
