Nintendo Has Applied For 15 Trademarks, Including F-Zero, Nintendogs & Pikmin

Nintendo has been filing a lot of trademark applications lately. That trend continues today, with the company sending applications for 15 more trademarks. All of the trademarks are in their English names, with one exception. For Super Smash Bros., it was just the logo. As for why, Japanese Nintendo says that Nintendo intends to use the trademarks for “home video game program, smartphone program, as well as non-game related purposes (merchandising etc)”. Here’s a list of all things that had been applied for trademarks:

  • Super Smash Bros.
  • Star Fox
  • F-Zero
  • Pikmin
  • Yoshi’s Island
  • Art Style
  • Flipnote Studio
  • Sin & Punishment
  • The Legendary Starfy
  • Nintendogs
  • Link’s Crossbow Training
  • Wii Fit
  • Wii Music
  • Wii Play
  • Wii Sports

  2. TBH really hoping to hear something about animal crossing, the last trademark it got was obvious that it was in the work since it got a trademark logo, skins for joyconn and pro controller, stuff like plushes board games and etc, like why would they just do all that and put so much work into that, they did the same thing with the amiibo trademark cards and it came true

      1. Only if it’s releasing in 2018. I want Animal Crossing as much as the next guy, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets saved for 2019 with how much we’re already getting and E3 this year is supposed to be 2018 releases only.

  3. Link’s Crossbow Training?
    Switch Zapper confirmed?

It wouldn’t make sense to use the Wii banner for Switch or 3DS games, so this sounds like Wii ports are coming to the Switch.

Yoshi’s Island is also pretty specific, so that seems like SNES ports are coming.

Also, Starfy, Nintendogs and Flipnote are pretty synonymous with the DS

    1. Wii games have already been ported to the Nvidia Shield in China. Seems inevitable for Switch considering they’re so similar in hardware.

  4. A new F-Zero game? This sounds too good to be true. But if it is, let’s hope people don’t complain about the new Starfox game.

    1. Sounds like the Starfox game of most people’s dreams, which means it probably only exists in someones head. If it is true it will be amazing though. The other thing that makes me question it is the Donkey Kong part. The name Wooden Fury sounds ridiculous and completely made up!

    2. After the last supposed leak that claimed Sony paid Capcom to not release XX to Switch in the West because it would threaten World when we now know it was delayed for other reasons, proving that leak a fake, I wouldn’t trust any leak period. Some fans will make up just about anything in their puny little minds.

  5. All of these games with “Wii” in the titles are garbage. E3 better have something exciting. Because the last one (if I remember correctly) bored me. Unless I’m getting it mixed up with the many boring Nintendo Directs. I can’t remember the last time I heard a game announcement that made me go bananas with excitement. I want Animal Crossing, Pikmin 4, A Mario Party that doesn’t suck, and a new Mario Golf and Mario Baseball for Switch. A Switch Luigi’s mansion would also be sweet.

  6. It’s fake news? I just figured that Ninty was covering all the games mentioned in Super Smash Bros.
