EA Says FIFA 19 For Nintendo Switch Will Feature Better Visuals But Still No Frostbite Engine

It seems FIFA is once again coming to the Nintendo Switch which will please football fans. The next entry in the franchise is predictably FIFA 19 and while EA says that the game won’t feature the impressive Frostbite engine, it will have better visuals than the version which is currently on sale at the moment. This is what Andrei Lazarescu who is the Supervising Producer for FIFA World Cup mode, told the Dream Team site:

“I’m not closing the door on that possibility,” he said. “However we didn’t want to create a dumbed-down version of the frostbite engine.”

As per last year, FIFA 19 will instead run on a ‘custom engine’ built for specifically Nintendo’s hardware. But gamers can still expect a noticeable boost.

“The intent was never to have a one-off custom engine that were never going to touch again,”Lazarescu explained.

“It was to have that as a baseline and then build from there.”

    1. Well the main omission from FIFA 18 was the journey mode and the fact this isn’t using frostbite means we probably won’t be getting that this time

      1. There were several omissions from online mode including the ability to play with friends. Also a number of FUT modes weren’t there making FUT feel a lot more bare bones than on other consoles. These are what I’m hoping are included. The Journey I think they should just drop from FIFA 19 on all platforms, I think it’s a waste of time. They won’t, but it’s what I’d do. I don’t care if it’s on Switch at any rate (and you’re right, 99% it won’t be).

  1. But will it feature all the features next time around? The Journey was the best part of Fifa 18 if I can be honest, so no Journey on Switch was a huge omission. I like the World Cup update to be fair.

  2. I thought Fifa 18 was fine graphics wise anyway. It was pretty good all round actually. Perfect for the Switch too.

  3. A dumbed down version RRIIGGHHTTTT so frostbite runs on mobile ps3 x360 but not switch

And im sorry FIFA AND PES ARE DUMBED DOWN RETRO CSDIAL GAMES

PES WII IS THE MIDT HARDCORE SND PURE FOOTBALL GAME EVER CREATED

    NO GYRO MOUSE NO BUY
    NO TEAM CONTROL NO BUY

NO OFF THE BALL CONTROL NO BUY

NO MOUSE BALL DRIBBLE NP BUY

NO MOUSE POINT SHOOT NO BUY
NO GYRO MOUSE TACTICAL IN PLAY REAL TIME COMBOS

    NO BUY

    FIFA IS CASUAL GARBAGE

      1. Take a moment and look over what games Nintendo has released after the Wii.

I hope you learn something lol

      2. Like I said a casual console all about golf , silly boxing games and other happy stuff, I can easily name 40 triple A titles that havent been released on a Nintendo console since the WII got releases up until now.

      3. Pretendoblog… don’t you ever get tired saying the very same bullshit every f*cking day? If you think the Switch is a casual console… think again. The Switch is for core gamers of all ages regardless if skills, strategy, and dexterity. Although the Switch doesn’t have 40 movie quality titles, it just makes up to over 300 games that are available now with more to come later in the year and beyond.

        Get N or get out!

  4. “We are making mobile version of our super powerful engine” 2013.
“We dont want to dumb down the engine” 2018
    Seems legit.
