Japan: Standard Edition Of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Soundtrack Sells Nearly 15,000 Copies

The soundtrack to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was recently released physically in Japan. Consumers had the choice of purchasing the Standard Edition or the Complete Edition. The Standard Edition sold an impressive 14,953 copies in the land of the rising sun. Sales of the Complete Edition haven’t been added to this total. There were 2,000 Complete Editions available and those quickly sold out. Here’s how the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 soundtrack compares to some other Nintendo soundtracks:

  • Splatoon soundtrack – roughly 43,000 units
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild soundtrack – 23,328 units
  • Splatoon 2 – roughly 18,000 units

  1. That’s pretty dag num impressive, but my attention is shifting over to the sales for the Splatoon soundtracks.
Over 40,000 copies sold with the release of the first game but just over 18,000 sold for the second game. Hopefully this doesn’t signify a rapidly-dying trend, because Splatoon was, and hopefully still is, huge.

    1. Well its the best selling Switch title in Japan by a wide margin and surpassed Splatoon 1 sales there five months ago. Personally I preferred the music in the first (pretty much the only thing I liked better in the first).
