Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has been a hit for Nintendo on their Switch platform and the mammoth JRPG has performed well in Japan. It has now emerged that Japanese gamers will be able to get a standalone version of the game which contains the downloadable content. Pricing and a release date for the package has yet to be announced.

I felt the same way when watching it. At first, I was all “What the fuck is this doing on here!? This is DLC! This is some bullshit!” It definitely felt more like a sequel than a story expansion so it deserved it’s spot in the direct. With any luck, XC2 will get another one like it. In fact, this is giving me shades of the story expansions for Witcher 3 which you could play as standalone games if you chose to.
