Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC Enables You To Play As A Blade And A Driver

Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s DLC Torna: The Golden Country was shown earlier on the Nintendo Treehoouse stream at E3. During the segment, the team unveiled that – for the first time – players would be able to play as both a Driver and a Blade. For those unfamiliar with the game, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 only allowed you to direct the ebb and flow of the battle with your assigned Blades. But with the DLC, you’ll now be able to switch between them at leisure, meaning you can battle as the Driver and equip them with their own weapons.

Going back 500 years, Torna: The Golden Country tells the story of the Driver Lora and her blade Jin as they work together to survive the destruction of Malos and his army.  The Treehouse team showcased some of the cutscenes, including the first reveal of Mythra’s previous Driver, Adam. The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC will be released on September 14th for the Switch, and can be purchased as a standalone game at retail, or with the game’s Expansion Pass.

  2. This was obvious from the trailer. What wasn’t obvious is that this is set 500 years before the main game.

Oi! Nintendo! Where’s some BotW DLC set during the 100 years before BotW!?
