Splatoon 2 enables you to leave comments in the plaza, the game’s hub area. Many posts have been made in the last year. Unfortunately, not all of these posts are in good taste. Some user posts end up being offensive, disrespectful, and even illegal. Well, Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami recently talked about their approach to these posts with Kotaku. Here’s what Nogami said:
“We really don’t want people to use the plaza here as a way to hurt people or say hurtful things to other people or do anything considered against the law. We do have a portion of our development team that is responsible for spotting the worst offenders when it comes to comments and artwork and making sure those don’t get seen.
We know a lot of topics are something someone feels positively about and another person might feel negatively about. We don’t want to bring the hammer down too hard on everything. And so as long as something hasn’t risen to the top for the wrong reasons, something that’d be violating the rating for some reason, we try to let the system basically sort it out. We really hope that people use this system as a means of communication and celebrating the game.”
feel sorry for the development team that has to see the dick drawings all the time :'(
REMEMBER TO USE YOUR REPORT BUTTON!!1!
The all caps made it more impactful; my uncle who works at Nintendo told me.
For real though, if you see something, say something. Report button’s there for a reason!
What’s their approach to inactivity during a match because I swear I have never met so many quitters in my life.
You gotta play ranked and get yours up. Around B+ or so, people seemed to care enough about their rank to not disconnect or idle. I don’t play much turf wars at all, but I rarely see that.
I know. I will admit to disconnecting sometimes due to lousy WiFi, but otherwise disconnections are terrible.
They do make for funny video captures, though, where everyone but you and one other person gets splatted, that one person freezes in place, you can keep running around, and after like 30 seconds it finally admits a communications error occurred.
I must correct you, they don’t get splatted. They disappear with small fog effect around the exact place where they were standing.
…which is pretty much getting splatted. Oh well! I thought it looked like getting splatted.
I unfortunately didn’t capture this when it happened to me few days ago, but it really looks different.
I think it looks different because you’re not inking the person. I’ve noticed the same smoke happen when I fall off stages, and that’s still considered splatting
splatoon 2 sucks
no u
Splatoon 2 sucks and you should be ashamed of playing that.

Wow, you’re so desperate to be a dick that you had to post it twice? Must be fun being you.
The only thing I’m ashamed of is taking the time to have read that comment.
just because you can’t play and get pwned like the n00b you are! just admit it you suck!
I wish they would have talk about it sooner becuase during launch there was a lot political and LGBT furry memes going on around back than (they occur sometimes still, but I’m mostly talking about the offensive ones, and the fact that they have nothing to do with ingame) but tbh I’m pretty sure this is the main reason why we don’t have miiverse on switch monitoring majority of those ignorant agenda shoving post on a game meant for kids is stupid.
I hate seeing politics in-game. One of the many reasons why I play videogames is because I want a break from this political garbage and these idiots put it in my game…
They need to include a way to block all user names for kids. Some people’s user names turn this game from an E title to an M title.
There’s always going to be trolls. I always report when I see dumb Nazi shit.
