Nintendo Says They Are Happy Sony And Microsoft Don’t Really Cater To Younger Fans

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told The Star that the company is extremely happy that both Microsoft and Sony don’t really cater to the younger audience as it gives them a unique spot in the video gaming market and it fosters affinity to the brand in the long-term.

“We are happy that they don’t. It’s been an incredibly important market because the kid who’s 5 or 6 today is going to be 12 or 13 and not all that many years later 18 or 19 … And when you have an affinity for Pokémon or The Legend of Zelda series or Mario Kart or Super Mario Bros. that affinity carries with you.”

  1. In other words “we glad because we can make what we want while people can still get mature stuff on other consoles”

  2. Which is funny because from what I’ve heard, the majority of Nintendo’s user base is mostly Men in their 20’s to 30’s with PS4 and XBox One getting a large portion of Kids aged 10 to 16

  3. Stupid idea. I am 36 year old gamer and i more play on mine switch. Ps4 is actual Only dust hunter :) Ok Detroit i play but after 6months no ps4 playing. Switch i play from release to now.

    1. It all depends on what type of games you like. My favorite is open world stealth games, and open world RPG’s. Because I love adventure and exploration, with vast beautiful worlds. So that’s why I love the PS4 so much. There’s a lot to choose from. But there’s none of those on the Switch (that I know of). But I don’t care about Xenoblade Chronicles, which I believe is open world.

      1. Try Switch zelda ;) real open world. Horizon Zero dawn look cool but zelda is better game, trust me.
        Horizon + dlc 9/10
        Zelda botw + dlc 11/10. :D

  4. Don’t understand why they would specifically cater to kids when they could have just been more inclusive of kids. Besides kids don’t have income, adults do.
