Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda Says That Poke Ball Plus Has “Superior Rumble Functionality Over The Joy-Con”

Game Freak director Junichi Masuda recently took part in a Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee play session, where he commented about the rumble feature of Poke Ball Plus. Masuda said that the Poke Ball Plus “offers superior rumble functionality over the Joy-Con, even when comparing to the Joy-Con’s HD Rumble”. This “superior experience” is due to the “components that generate the vibration”.

  1. When I first played 1-2 Switch, I was amazed at the technology of the HD rumble. If what Masada says is true, then this Pokeball should make it feel as if you are actually catching Pokémon.

  2. nice to se peope came to there sences controls and interaction matter dualshock belongs in a musium

    1. They’re technically dual controllers. They’re a pair, left and right, and although they can be used without each other, they’re superior when brought together.

Y’know, teamwork and all that jazz.

    1. Switch your thinking around. Instead of thinking it’s a joycon primarily, it’s a Pokemon Go/Let’s Go compatibility companion first and a supplementary controller for Let’s Go second as far as features go. You’re basically paying for a Pokemon Go Plus with Switch cross platform functionality and a free Legendary (Which are ironically commonplace in a respect). I’d argue that justifies the approx. 20USD it has over a vanilla Pokemon Go Plus in that light. That said, if anyone buys this mainly/exclusively as a switch controller for that matter, they’re not going to be getting the most out of it and should avoid purchasing it. In the end, unless you’re a PGO player, you’ll be just fine with a lone joycon.

  3. I’m thinking about buying the bundle with the game and the pokeball. Buuuuut idk… I’m just not sure how comfortable playing with the pokeball would be. Hmm. I also want Mew. But I think it’s dumb that you have to buy the pokeball to get mew. -_-
