The next Splatoon 2 Splatfest is taking place towards the end of the month on 21st July and it promises to be a great event. This time you will need to choose between Team Squid or Team Octopus. Those who choose Team Octopus will be able to play as an Octoling even if they don’t own the recent Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, so it is sure to be a popular choice. Wow… beautiful. Too bad the Octos will obviously win popularity-wise. This Splatfest will be sooooooo rigged so the Inklings will win anyway though… I don’t know what to think…

Its more like the least popular team wins 75% of the time. The more popular u r, the more ppl in tht group will consist of noobish to casual to not tht skilled.
But the point of Splatfest isn’t to determine which option people prefer; the point is to determine which option skilled people prefer. I agree that the popularity should have impact on the results, e.g. when one team is much popular and they lose due to being 1% worse than the opponent, they should win.
