Reggie Fils-Aimé Influenced Adding Star Fox Characters To Starlink: Battle For Atlas

During a recent Famitsu interview about Starlink: Battle for Atlas, Ubisoft producer Matthew Rose gave some insight regarding the idea behind adding Star Fox characters to the Nintendo Switch version of the upcoming game. According to Rose, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé had a lot to do with the collaboration. A translation of an excerpt from the interview is as follows:

During a small-scale closed-doors demo event last year, Reggie was present and happened to see the game. Reggie was the one who noticed the possibilities the game could bring, and invited the Starlink developers to present the game to Miyamoto and the Star Fox development team. This was what led to the collaboration.

    1. Indeed.

One interesting piece of information that nobody here seems to have caught is that a “Star Fox development team” is mentioned.

Why would there currently be a development team assembled for Star Fox if they are not currently making a Star Fox game?

I hope I have enlightened you.

      1. Which means a Star Fox game is in development for the Switch. The reason why I wrote this it’s because someone send a letter to Nintendo of America and Nintendo of America answered, if I remember well, with this quote:

Unfortunately we don’t have nothing to show about Star Fox

This really made think that in real Nintendo is working on Star Fox

      2. Depends on the dates, really. If Starlink has been in development for years, it could have been presented to the Starfox Zero team.

      1. If you are so brave that you cannot show your name and have to take ours instead, then you should learn our name correctly. We are Nintendo First Order, which you somehow missed. Other than that, it’s really unfortunate that so dumb children are being born nowadays, I feel sorry for you.

      1. Try looking up the original unreleased N64 version called Dinosaur Planet. That’s what Star Fox Adventure was originally going to be.

    1. As much as I love & adore Star Fox Adventures, it’s a shame Dinosaur Planet never came to be. Honestly, if they wanted to tie it into the Star Fox franchise, it should have been Fox that needed saving and Andross should NOT have been the final boss. Maybe kept it a secret who Krystal was trying to save and only revealed it was Fox at the end of the game. As for the final boss, it could have been someone from Andross’s army that survived & was so loyal to him that he led Star Fox into a trap.

  1. Reggie is overrated, he is just a sales person. The only game he ever played is Zelda botw and he tried some Smash …
    Seriously, just stop.

      1. Like if you asked him something about OOT he has no fucking idea what the fuck you are talking about.
        Zora’s domain … What’s that ? 🤦🏻‍♂️

      1. You first order are a Bunch of children, so easy triggered by Nintendo criticism. It’s fools like you who keep making some people very rich without effort and released half products, it sells anyways, the peasants keep fighting other people who criticize.

Change your name to >Usefull Nintendo idiot Order 👍🏻

  2. Maybe he should influence Ubisoft to use larger gb cards Starlink in order to actually produce a proper physical release of the game instead of the cheap skate/half assed attempt Ubisoft is planning for now! Can you manage to do that Reggie, huh, can you?! :/

  3. Anybody else excited for the rumored Star Fox racer?
As for this game, I might get it, even if it’s more for the Arwing then the game itself.

  4. Reggie is the janitor of Nintendo. He’s just an English speaking hand puppet for Japanese Nintendo HQ. He doesn’t have any real power or sway within Nintendo.

  5. How many of y’all who complain about the lack of Star Fox games, actually supported the series by buying Star Fox Zero on Wii U which is an excellent game if you choose not to be so harsh about the cockpit controls?
