DOOM Eternal For Nintendo Switch Is Being Worked On By Panic Button And Aiming For 30fps

The DOOM Eternal for Nintendo Switch announcement by Bethesda was very well received by owners of Nintendo’s latest system. It has emerged today that the port of the game is being handled by the more than competent Panic Button. The team is currently aiming for 30fps on the Nintendo Switch which is the same as the original DOOM. Bethesda is also looking to release the Nintendo Switch version on the very same day as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game, so there will be no hanging about.

  2. “Bethesda is also looking to release the Nintendo Switch version on the very same day as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game, so there will be no hanging about.” Probably shouldn’t have said that part and kept quiet til they were certain it’d come the same day as the other versions. Because if it doesn’t release same day, you know the Ninty fanats will get upset.

    1. They’ve got time though as the release date is still unannounced. If they’re really committed to having the Switch version there on day 1 they could be holding off until they know for certain when it could be ready.

    2. Panic Button has stated that development periods of 3rd party multiplat Switch games coming out later than the other versions are shrinking because of their knowledge of the system, so there’s good reason for this site to assume that it’s a certainty that the Switch version of DOOM Eternal will be released on the launch day. You’re right though, it may or may not release on the same day as the other versions but given the Switch’s hardware specs and the type of gaming platform it is, I don’t think too many fans will be upset (or at least they shouldn’t be) about the potential delay so long as the game is still on track to come

    3. I feel this simultaneous launch will be legit. According to devs, unlike the Wii U, the Switch is actually easy to program for; the only extra work would likely be downgrading the Switch version graphically since it isn’t as powerful, but that’s a given.

I have DOOM on Switch and aside from a technical hiccup that sometimes causes the sound to go out after firing the shotgun, it really does run well on the system. Haven’t beaten the campaign yet though. I might keep Eternal on my radar.

I love Panic Button’s work. They beautifully port games to the Switch. My top developer right now. Played Doom and now I am currently playing through Wolfenstein II. I will buy Doom Eternal day one!

  4. 60 fps is only needed in Multiplayer shooters.30 fps Fortnite makes me very tired on my eyes. and splatoon 60 doesn’t so
