The World Ends With You: Final Remix Nintendo Switch Won’t Have Pro Controller Support

The forthcoming The World Ends With You: Final Remix will not feature Nintendo Switch Pro Controller support. The news was today confirmed by Nintendo via US Gamer. There are two control methods for The World Ends With You: Final Remix and those are touchscreen for playing in handheld mode, or if you are playing docked, then you use solo Joy Con with motion reticle aiming.

“I asked a Nintendo representative if a traditional control scheme with a Pro controller will be supported, to which they confirmed won’t be possible. It’s solo Joy Con with motion reticle aiming and touch screen or bust.”

  1. I played this on the DS when it launched. It wouldn’t really call for the pro controller. Seeing how this title was face buttons & touchscreen based.
But if I were Nintendo I would’ve added pro controller playability anyway. Just for those who love to use the option. Now some people might b*tch & whine about noy having the options.

    1. Which they have every right to do. A solo Joy-Con is not adequate for some of us as the tiny ass things are uncomfortable to use for some of us for long periods of time. If Nintendo thought about making Joy-Cons in two sizes (small and big,) there wouldn’t be an issue.

  2. I blame the game’s control scheme. It was, originally, a touch screen game. That can be hard to replicate with the Pro Controller.

      1. True the 3ds analog was uncomfortable but never failed on me. I’ve been playing Twilight Princess HD on the Wii U game pad and that thing was built pretty solid and is especially noticeable after holding the Switch in handheld mode. The pro controller is solid but for the joycon cost you’d figure they’re be the indestructible controller but they are anything but….

Thinking of getting Mario Party bundle just for the packed in joycons lol.

    1. Send them into Nintendo to get replaced if they are still under warranty. That’s what I did and they gave me an extra year to my warranty.

    2. Unfortunately you must be unlucky and have one with manufacturing defects that slipped through quality control. I have four sets of joy cons, two sets since launch, and have had no issues with any of them.

      1. Yeah my left one has an analog stick problem even after calibrating it. It moves on its own and when I calibrate I can’t make it touch the edge during the rotate part. My right joycons stopped reading amiibo but other than that it works fine. Hopefully my next set will be better for the long haul 😅

  3. Despite the lack of a Pro controller, I’m STILL gonna buy The World Ends With You: Final Remix for the Switch including an exclusive character Coco.

  4. As someone who played and got every single thing in the original, I can understand not adding in the Pro Controller, however, I still would like it and am still nervous about how this game will control. The original was seriously touchscreen heavy to the point where it was noticeable on my DS’s touchscreen. I don’t see myself attacking with chains on my Switch without destroying the screen.
