During the recent Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo officially confirmed that a new main game in the Animal Crossing series is in development for Nintendo Switch. This is the first entry in the core series since Animal Crossing: New Leaf debuted on Nintendo 3DS in 2013. The upcoming game is slated for a 2019 release exclusively on Nintendo Switch. First
I sadly can’t find any reason to be hyped for this. I’ve wanted a new Animal Crossing on home consoles again for awhile but if this ends up being one of the poor games that don’t get cloud saves, I will sadly have to skip this.
I’m sure it’ll have cloud saves, and even if it doesn’t, my guess is this will be a mostly online game so it may even store most of the data off of the console. But either way, if it doesn’t have cloud saves, I’m sure it’ll still be a great game that isn’t worth skipping.
Considering it’s a life simulator, the worst thing that can happen IS starting over. I mean, I would NOT be happy if God put me back on this earth after I died and forced me to start a new life all over again. (If you’re gonna punish someone that took their own life, putting them right back on earth in a new life would be the way to go. Least it’s how I’d do it. Muahahaha! lol)
i would, that would be amazeballs.
I actually can’t decide whether or not this game will have cloud saves. See in this case, even if they do try to say it’s to encourage fair play, people can still exploit the date and time aspect of the system like with Animal Crossing New Leaf. Basically if you hadn’t played the game for a few weeks, you could simply go back to the day after you last played and things would be as you left it because the game believes not much time has passed,
I’m gonna say this game MAY have cloud saves because even if you do save scum, it’s not really going to affect other players because Animal Crossing isn’t really a game that has “opponents”, it’s more of a friendship game that you can play together.
Next year is looking amazing for the Switch.
That’s truth. It’s looking like it’ll be better than the first year even.
Years that end in ODD numbers will be the better years.
While the EVEN numbered years… not so much.
I hope we get some Zelda news (a 2D game, a Ocarina anniversary, anything!) in the next Nintendo Direct.
Well this is a welcome surprise!
Freaking finally! This is the game I have truly been waiting to play on Switch.
