Japan: Readers Of Nintendo Dream Magazine Revealed Their Top 20 Favorite Video Game Characters

The October 2018 issue of Nintendo Dream magazine contains the results of something that may interest you. Readers of the Japanese magazine have been voting on their top 20 favorite video game characters, and the results are now known. Well, sort of. The list of characters were revealed, but the total amount of points that each character got are largely unknown. Nintendo Dream only revealed the point totals for the top 3 characters. Here’s the list:

  1. Kirby (Kirby) – 120
  2. Mario (Mario) – 84
  3. Link (The Legend of Zelda) – 80
  4. Pikachu (Pokémon)
  5. Luigi (Mario)
  6. Meta Knight (Kirby)
  7. Yoshi (Mario)
  8. Waddle Dee (Kirby)
  9. Wario (Made in Wario)
  10. Zelda (The Legend of Zelda)
  11. Rowlet (Pokémon)
  12. Sonic (Sonic)
  13. Ike (Fire Emblem)
  14. Eevee (Pokémon)
  15. Inkling (Splatoon)
  16. Daisy (Mario)
  17. Marth (Fire Emblem)
  18. Agent 8 (Splatoon)
  19. Sans (Undertale)
  20. Leon (Fire Emblem)

  1. Awesome. I like how Ike is the #1 FE character.
    I don’t like how Wario is only represented by Made in Wario (Warioware) now. I miss my Wario Land games :/ Even Wario World was fun even though it was a shallow game.

      1. You mean Super Mario RPG? I didn’t know because I don’t follow many sites, not to mention I never play it because I wasn’t a fan of RPG’s until Paper Mario 64 and FFIII DS version.

      2. I was kind of popping off but it really may be true. She was playable and less regal and more willing to get her hands dirty (but still remaining benevolent).

        I recommend playing it, if you can. Paper Mario was essentially the spiritual successor to SMRPG. Really fantastic.

      3. I would like to play it if it comes to the Switch Online Service. I guess only time will tell if it comes to the service.

      1. Now that you mention it, you may be right. The fact that Rowlet is there instead of his final evolution may point that the ones who voted were just kids.
