Skybound President Dan Murray recently spoke to Variety about the team’s deal to secure ownership of Telltale’s The Walking Dead. There, Murray talked a little about having the original team continuing to work on the game, as well as what the focus of this deal is. Simply put, Murray says that “this has everything to do with the people who are making the game, and the fans”. Here’s what Murray said in full:
“We are doing our best to take care of the people. Our intent is to work with the original team but there are a lot of moving parts. I don’t want to get into the specifics around the deal itself, but I will say this: We are doing everything we can to do right by the people making the game. There’s not a huge upside for the corporate entity of Telltale Games.
This has nothing to do with Telltale Games and everything to do with the people involved with making ‘The Walking Dead’ game and trying to take care of them in the meantime the best way we can. That’s the process we are in: Save the game for the fans and provide at least a runway to the team as we finish off the game. This has everything to do with the people who are making the game, and the fans.”
What a tragic story. its crazy how one moment theyre ontop of the world, and the next, they imploded. i really do feel bad for them.
If the higher ups are being assholes, I don’t feel bad for them at all. Fuck TellTale Games’ higher heirarchy. They can go rot with Toys ‘R’ Us’ dirtbags and Enron’s dirtbags. (The day something like this befalls EA will be a GLORIOUS day!)
I meant the company as a whole, of course the exec’s that didn’t say anything can eat a bag of dicks, but the employees and those partnered that had no idea. Its crazy how it all crumbled for all of them so quickly.
I won’t be able to buy the rest of batman or the middle seasons of walking dead, but they better finish season 4 of the walking dead.
