USGamer has managed to get an interview with Monolith Soft executive director Tetsuya Takahashi and it is certainly an excellent read if you are a fan of the company’s extensive JRPG’s. One Wii U game that many were hoping would be ported across to the Nintendo Switch is the epic Xenoblade Chronicles X. USGamer asked Mr. Takahashi if it is something they will be able to do. He replied that it’s unlikely due to budget and the extensive nature of the role-playing title.
When it comes to roadblocks that stand in the way of Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Switch, Takahashi’s answer is simple.
“Money,” he laughs. “It’s a massive game. Re-creating it would be really difficult.”
I loved this game and while I’d love to play this on the Switch I can understand why this is likely not happening. I do wish they would provide us with something to explain all the cliff hangers in the ending though.
well they do want to make X2, so that could lead to it
That would be awesome. I’m hoping that’s the case. I would love to fly around in a Skell on the Switch.

I can’t here you~~
I can’t see you~~
I still want it, as well as Xenoblade Chronicles one. Anyone here a millionaire who loves the Xenoblade games?
But they are just easy, lazy wii u ports…. right?
I hope they eventually port it with a remaster of the first one on the same package
Small fonts game, no thanks keep it in the past. Let’s move forward, season learned

This is probably my most wished for wiiu port. I didn’t give it enough time on wiiu. Never even got a mech hopefully it can happen sometime during the switch’s life
I just want an HD remaster of the original Xenoblade Chronicles. I love it on the 3DS but I want to enjoy it on my TV in awesome HD.
As for XCX, meh. While it’d be nice to play it, I won’t lose any sleep over missing out on it.
Kinda weird how he phrased it, but that may just be the translation. He talks about “recreating” the game when just being asked about a port.
Sorry what? “Recreating”? We’re not asking for a recreation, we’re asking for a direct port like with Mario Kart 8 and Pokken Tournament. Unless you want to add in more content, there wouldn’t be any need for any creating.
Well, there were some things “Gamepad exclusive” that need to be addressed in a port. With more RAM, it could also be more likely to have a performance improvements. Also, file size (28GB), Miiverse (Blade Report), Online, etc.
I’m a bit confused here. I remember there’s one interview awhile back where he said something like the port is ready anytime but it’s up to Nintendo. He didn’t anything being hard to recreate.
That’s kind of the same answer. Nintendo gives the go-ahead by giving them the money to do it.
If its so hard to make a conversion than maybe they should give it to someone who can do it for them. In the meantime they can make some entirely new game.
What I hate about it I never was able to ride the robots even though I put many hours of gameplay.
i am not a tad bit surprised. this game looked like its code was too dependent on the wii u hardware.
dont care… X2! X2! ;)
