    1. To me personally, it’s not even the number of boards that is disappointing, but rather the concept of the boards. They seem too small and all of them follow the exact same objective – pray that Toadette shows up close to you and buy a star for 20 coins, that’s all. Previous Mario Party games (MP 8 and earlier at least, can’t say much about anything that came after, as I haven’t played those) had boards that were much, much more creative in that sense + bigger too. MP on Switch has some really nice minigames and all, it’s still super fun with friends too, but the boards are just boring, in my opinion.
So yeah, I agree with you, I really hope they’ll add some more content in the form of new and better boards.

      1. I mean, technically, all Mario Party games rely heavily on luck. But with the boards in MP Switch, it’s kind of on a whole different level. After buying a star, it immediately respawns on a random space – it can be ANY of the spaces on the board. This means, there’s a chance that the star might respawn literally 2 spaces away from you, giving you the chance to obtain multiple stars in a single turn. The boards being small and uncomplex also means that you could get really unlucky and have the star keep respawning on the opposite side of the board so that the other players will always be closer to it than you, and thus, reach it before you each time. This is actually what happened to a friend of mine during one of our matches.
I’m just missing the cleverness the boards in previous MP games had, where there was more to it than just plainly running after the star. Some of the old boards used to actually encourage some strategizing. With these ones, it’s nothing like that, sadly.

  1. I knew Marvel’s Spider-Man was gonna be the #1 seller in September. In fact, it’s probably because of this game Venom did so well at the box office. (Sony Pictures got lucky with that *grinds teeth* movie… ……. FUCK!!!)
