Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has been doing the rounds recently when it comes to interviews. The latest one is with The Verge. Mr. Fils-Aime is confident in the 2018 lineup and says that we should expect a number of brand new surprises for 2019, besides the previously announced titles such as Animal Crossing Switch and Pokemon 2019.
But whether or not Nintendo hits its 2018 numbers, the future seems bright for the Switch. In addition to already announced titles like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, a new Animal Crossing, and a proper, mainline Pokémon game, Fils-Aimé teased that there are also “brand new surprises that that we haven’t yet shared” to look forward to. “What we want to do is surprise and delight our fans in ways that they didn’t even think of.”

Yeah, it’s already looking better than this year for 1st party releases. I’m hoping either Bayo 3 or Prime 4 are next year as well. Smash Ultimate is sure to keep me occupied for months though, so i’m not too worried about it. But damn I’m hyped for a new Animal Crossing.
Yea 2018 was their buffer year while they got everything ready and it wasn’t even that bad honestly but 2019 is looking to be a better year already, if they have more stuff coming out then it’ll move from good to great.

It’s stack. Don’t forget about Mario Bros U either. Yeah, it’s not going to excite us as big fans, but those games sell like crazy. And that rumored Retro Star Fox game was rumored to be 2019 as well.

I agree with Michael. It’s not a 1st party title but a 2nd party title as the franchise itself belongs to Sega. Now if Sega had sold the rights of the entire franchise to Nintendo, it’d be a different story.
Platinum Games said 2019 is their target year for Bayonetta 3 and another unannounced game.

I always love surprises like these. I can’t wait to see what those developers have in store for us for next year. Nintendo better reveal Metroid Prime 4 release date soon that we all expecting.
Hopefully the Game Awards will show some Ninty reveals cuz other than best family game and a sports category Nintendo really doesn’t have much representation in this years awards show. They may not win any awards this year other than best family game (since like almost all are Nintendo games lol) but if they show some heavy hitting trailers they could still “win” the awards show and over all.

Yes Wonderful 102!!!!!!!! It would had been epic to play Wonder Red on Smash!!! And Wonder Blue. Darn they could had put an all new Franchise on Smash. Wonder Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, White And Pink
And Black could had been used as an Ultimate Smash with the Smash Ball.
Surprises from Nintendo themselves? Or surprises from Nintendo & others? If Nintendo themselves, a new F-Zero and new Star Fox game (both for Switch) would be nice. They got a wealth of IPs so they need to use them. Especially if they are gonna go after websites that let people freely download their old games from past systems. I don’t know if those ROM guys they are getting 12m from were making money or not. If they were, they deserved what they got. If they were not making money, well that’s a debate I honestly don’t feel like getting into so meh.
They’d probably settle out of court for less maybe. I was thinking 12 million was an insane amount too (unless of course they actually made this in profits). They probably came out at this number to deter anyone else but ppl are crazy and they’ll probablystill continue to test the waters lol.

One of those surprises better be Pikmin 4 for Switch. Where the HECK is it? That game is years over-due. I NEED Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Pikmin 4 so I can finally resurrect my Switch and play it again. All I’ve been playing for the past several months (probably this whole year) is my PS4. SO many great games on that console. I’m starting to wonder if I’m ever going to leave it, even for a while. Last time I left it, it was for the PS3. And that was because I wanted to play Red Dead Redemption before the sequel came out.
You are so right about Pikmin 4!! I u till then why cant they put Pikmin 1 and 2 on the Eshope? And I want to get Luigi Mansion and the 2019 Pokmon Tittle, Yoshi, Resident Evil 0, 1 and 4. Bayonetta 3. Smash Bros will get you playing your Switch again especially since we have that adventure mode back.
It would be nice if Wonderful 101 came to Switch too. That game is under rated.
Also we have Trine series and all new Tribe 4. I played Trube 2. I loved it. Now I get to play Trine 3 and 4 later on.
