There was a rumour doing the rounds last month which suggested that the Castlevania Netflix animation producer Adi Shankar was in talks with Nintendo for The Legend of Zelda animated series. It has now been revealed by IGN that the Netflix animation is for the Devil May Cry series.
Shankar, in an exclusive interview with IGN’s Jacki Jing, also revealed that his Devil May Cry series “will join Castlevania in what we’re now calling the bootleg multiverse.”
Shankar attributes the Devil May Cry series announcement to the success Castlevania, which he says, “really over-performed. It did crazy well. We immediately got greenlit for Season 3.” Thanking the fans who made this all possible, Shankar said, “I wouldn’t have a job if it wasn’t for the fans.”

I’m not a fan of DMC, butthis wouldn’t be the first time a LOZ show/movie wasn’t greenlit. There was a CGI-animated movie pitch by Disney that was rejected.
At least we have the manga for Link characterization, which could be adapted into anime.

Just posting a comment here in hopes of replies, so they can bury down recent comments from a certain someone who won’t leave me alone, so I don’t have to automatically see them anytime I open the notification tab and be reminded of that person’s existence, all because WordPress won’t let people hide comments (like YouTube does). Maybe if this wasn’t such a slow news period, there would be more news to comment on, followed by more replies.
