Sony Will Not Be At E3 2019, But Nintendo Says That They Will

The countdown to E3 2019 has begun. Exhibit spaces are now available for companies to purchase before the event takes place from June 11th to 13th, 2019. Earlier today, Sony confirmed that they will not be at E3 2019 at all. Meanwhile, Nintendo‘s Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed that the company will be there once again. He said that “E3 is an outstanding opportunity for us to share new games and experiences with fans and business partners from across the globe. Every year, we discuss what will be the best way for us to take advantage of the next E3 show in order to bring smiles to people’s faces”.

    1. No offense but we heard the nintendo will win quote for too long…. Their past e3’s didnt exactly win alot of stuff…. This tear nothing was shown to compete against the xbox and ps…. All we got this year was wiiu ports and mario parry and smash…. My hopes for next year aremt that high…

      1. Honestly Microsoft’s E3 was the best, with Nintendo as the second best. Sony’s E3 was a mess, and I suspect that (and the recent censorship practices) had a hand in they not appearing next year.

Sony never left an E3 unattended, even if they would announce a new console later that year.

As for expectations, next year we have: Luigi’s Mansion 3, Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3 and Pokemon. That’s already a lot of good content for an E3.

      2. Animal Crossing and Pokemon are some of the biggest franchises. If either of those are shown on top of stuff like Bayonetta and Metroid I’d say they’re in good standing.

  1. Microsoft will probably announce all of Sony’s games like they did this year anyways. I didn’t even know it was possible to “win” E3 while simultaneously not making me have the slightest desire to get their console until then.

      1. And then you have those Xboners saying “but muh power”. When you have to resort to talking about the power of your console because you can’t name any good exclusives it’s a clear indicator that it’s the inferior console.

      2. That was the same argument that the Sony Drones had all this gen. To this day they keep hyping up the PS4 but for over 3 years the same games have been appearing on the same list of “best of E3” yet, those games keep getting delayed and have yet to released. What’s the point of getting a console with the most exclusives when those exclusives will most likely not released till next gen, on or simultaneously on the new gen. Maybe that’s why Sony is skipping E3 this year, can’t show off the same games 4 years in a row.

    1. I’m thinking the same thing. But the day it think the PS5 will come out just yet… They might discontinue the original PS4 in favor of The PS4 Pro for a while. I think PS4 will day around for like 10-12years…

It’s like 5 years old now, right?

  2. Metroid Prime 4, Luigi’s Mansion, Animal Crossing, Bayonetta 3 and whatever New games they have… It already feels like 2019 will be a very good year for Nintendo

  3. Weird move. But, they barely showed anything at the last one. Sony’s biggest mistake recently has been showing games years before they’re ready to release. That DREAMS game still isn’t even out yet. I keep forgetting about Kojima’s game. Can’t even remember the name of it. Maybe taking a year off will be a good thing. Kinda tired of them showing off the same stuff every year. This also makes me think PS5 is definitely not next year.

  4. >Create initial buzz by announcing you won’t be there
    > Let rumors start to build up on their own
    > Show up at another games show or their own conference and announce ps5 plans
    > profit?

  5. Perhaps they are quitting the game console business?

Nah, that would be as unlikely as Fox quitting the movie business.

    1. Fox is quitting the movie business because it’s owner, Robert Murdoch, has never really cared for it. He’s always been more of a sports and news guy. Once they shed off their movie and TV show business, they are gonna double down on their news and sports stuff. Hell! They apparently already worked something out with WWE where they’ll get Smackdown sometime in 2019 while Raw stays on USA Network, so expect WWE Smackdown on a Fox channel.

A more accurate comparison would be that Sony is as unlikely of quitting the video game business as Nintendo is. Neither is going anywhere for a very long time. If Sony is gonna drop anything, it’s gonna be their own movie business as they have been trying to sell off Sony Pictures and everything under it for awhile now.

        1. Yeah and the only reason Disney was able to is because Murdoch wants to sell it off. Of course, the deal hasn’t gone through yet as they are trying to get the deal approved by other regions.

            1. You heard of the US approving the deal. Since then, India & the European Commission has approved the deal. Many believe China is the biggest roadblack because— Scratch that! Apparently China’s regulators approved the deal earlier today! I half expected China to be the ones to kill the merger dead, but they got approved with no conditions.

  6. MS E3 this year with those new studio announcements… have setup a very crazy show for next year. Sony backing out will give MS an open road to rekt stuff..

Nintendo will make the show a MP4 show.. they can only surprise me at this point.

  7. Nintendo have the floor now show lots of good shit and no crap and they will do well, the switch will be over 2 years old by then, start pumping out the games!
