Sonic Movie Points Towards “Textured And Realistic”

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie and the Pokemon: Detective Pikachu movie are two films coming out next year and they hopefully won’t disappoint. Paramount recently held a film presentation at CCXP and a teaser was shown for The Sonic The Hedgehog movie, by all accounts it featured what was described as a close up shot of Sonic who looked “textured and realistic.” Hopefully we shall all be given a glimpse soon.

The Sonic movie stars Ben Schwartz as the titular character, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman and James Marsden as Doug. It’s due in theatres on November 8th, 2019.

  1. Do they not understand how unrealistic Sonic is? For Pokémon at least they’re made up animals so they can pull it off, but Sonic is a humanoid hedgehog.
    TL;DR – Uh oh

    1. Completly agreed. I am beginning to think that SEGA has their mind in the ass. They don’t seem to understand that the kids are not going to be the salvation of Sonic.

  2. I hate when people go for realism with stuff like this. just animate it in 2d or 3d with his cartoon look. not everything has to look “live action” and radical.
