Why? If ppl still buy them as an alternative to Switch that’s cheaper with excellent cheaper select titles than……??? Still a great handheld with an AWESOME library. I still use my 3DS just because of the various exclusive titles on it. Still can’t play Pushmo, Planet Robobot, Animal Crossing, Mario Maker and many others on Swirch YET. Till more port over I’m holding onto my 3DS XL
In Europe Star Fox 64 3D was already 20€
And Ocarina was even cheaper 10 bucks or somting, steal !

Some people think that it dumbed too much down and some don’t like the changes the bosses received. While I personally don’t agree, I can totally understand where they’re coming from.
If you were thinking about picking the game up, I’d recommend looking up the differences and changes from the original before you decide to get the remake or not

@Xenoblade1, It’s not, he is just entitled hipster wanna sound smart and special.
Remember how you could beat Goht entirely by ramming into him as a Goron? Yeah, that’s not a thing in MM3D- every boss now exposes a weak point eyeball after being stunned (that’s all you can do to Goht as a Goron now in MM3D, is stun him). Worse, is Goron Link’s fists swing too high up to hit it- you have to take the mask off and hit the eye with Child Link’s sword. It entirely breaks the pace and needlessly extends the time it takes to beat him, in a game where time management is everything. This goes for every temple boss- whatever strats worked to beat them in the N64 original, don’t work on 3DS.
But the worst offender is Twinmold. One of them can’t even be hurt until the first one is defeated, and the second beast fires projectiles in such a pattern that you’re almost guaranteed to get hit and knocked down before you can hit it, losing your window of opportunity in the process. I have never been able to beat Twinmold on 3DS in less than 12 in-game hours, and this is with time slowed down. It’s fucking horrible.
They also changed how you get the Stone Mask. The invisible soldier who gives it to you is now located in Pirates’ Fortress, right under the ladder you need to climb to reach the upper areas of the fortress- he’s not in Ikana anymore. Coincidentally, this is the area of the game where you’ll use it most. His change of placement was ridiculous.
And lastly, they royally fucked up Zora swimming. Remember how it worked on N64? Yeah, you can only do that while using magic in 3D, which means you won’t be doing it for long as it burns through magic very quickly.
Stick to the N64 original- the 3DS remake took so many backwards steps in the name of “accessibility” it’s almost insulting.

The remake fixed so many issues the original had. I thought it was much better. Same goes for OOT 3D.

I’m very surprised that they’re still doing Nintendo Selects, there hasn’t been a new addition in forever. I’m also completely baffled why they finally decided to put Star Fox on. It’s been out for ages, what happened in 2019 to suddenly make it appropriate for Selects, but not before? Especially since Majora’s Mask and Mario Maker are so much more recent.
My guess? They saw I just bought Star Fox 64 on Virtual Console and want to make me regret my decision. But I got it for only $6 thanks to my silver Nintendo Rewards points, so no regrets whatsoever!!!
Lol. More seriously, I hope this means that we will eventually get some Selects titles on Switch as well. It would be wonderful if Mario Odyssey was given the Selects treatment before I buy a Switch. Too bad there is absolutely no way to know when and if that would ever happen!

I’d NEVER buy a Nintendo Selects release. Nintendo screws up the cover art on them. I’d buy a used copy (of the original release) on ebay any day before buying a Nintendo Selects release. Funny thing is, I don’t recall anyone but myself ever complaining about this sort of thing. And that’s surprising, considering how touchy collectors usually are. I feel the same way about Gamecube Player’s Choice releases, and Playstation Greatest Hits releases. I only like original covers.
Not that any of this was worth mentioning. It’s just annoying how, when the first-party titles finally go down in their crazy prices, they screw up the cover art. It’s a bit of a peeve of mine.
Compared to “Player’s Choice” for Gamecube games that just added a little banner at the top, I totally see where you’re coming from.
They do this FOR collectors like yourself, so you can easily identify what copy was originally part of the release. You’re welcome.
