Mortal Kombat 11 For Nintendo Switch Developed By Shiver Entertainment

The classically violent fighter Mortal Kombat 11 is making its way to the Nintendo Switch on the 23rd of April and the news has gone down well with fans. What isn’t clear is who is in charge of developing the Nintendo Switch version of the game, which will developed separately. In an interview it has been revealed that it is Shiver Entertainment who are building the Switch version. The studio is a Warner Bros.-owned studio who are known for their work on the Scribblenauts series.

“So it’s sort of a co-development”, he explained. Traub was asked about the Switch edition being a downgrade, to which he replied that “Special geometry reductions” were being implemented to ensure a smooth experience for Nintendo’s MK fanbase.

  1. I’m pretty certain this will still be an awesome port even with the graphic adjustments. I don’t think I’ve read anything about cross platform play. I wonder if that is in the works…?

    1. That might be a bit difficult because Sony is being difficult and their Nintendo-esque persona aka they are “for the children” while Nintendo gives them the Nintendo Seal of Approval when it comes to crossplay.

          1. Bad a.n.a.logy since vegetarians & vegans eat meat free sandwiches. A better a.n.a.logy would be like watching a Friday the 13th movie without s.e.x, nudity, blood, & gore.

            (Fucking awaiting moderation tag..! A-bloody-gain!)

  2. It’ll be interesting to see how this pans out.
If this looks and plays right it could be a big hit for the switch and may surpass other console sales with the portability.
    Love the portability!

  3. I hope mk for switch is, as sick as it may sound, still got all the guts and gore and reducing this isn’t part of the special reductions. This is what mk games have always been about and if this is significantly reduced it’s not going to do as well.
Personally I’m not overly bothered by it, but true mk fans will be.
They’ll want more gore for their buck!

    1. Exactly why they wouldn’t dare censor or limit the gore, blood, etc. That’s like making a PG-13 Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Alien, or Robocop film! … *remembers the Robocop reboot that was PG-13 & facepalms self for forgetting & for the studio being idiots*
