      1. I feel you guys but you can’t deny that the art style is cute, isn’t it? I’m not giving up on it over some art style preference. I thought classic Zelda games on Switch will never happen and I always wished for Nintendo to do it. And I’m glad they did. Bring in a remake of Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Age as well!

  1. Certainly an interesting take with the art style. I don’t want to be negative, because I’m still going to pick it up, but I wish it had been a bit less cutesy. Looks like they were trying to make it look like a toy world.

  2. I am so fucking excited. This is my favorite Zelda game ever. I never thought I’d see this day. My favorite direct ever!!!

      1. You weren’t the only one who liked it. I admit, there were a lot of things that I’m probably not going to pick up, but Link’s Awakening, Final Fantasy IX, Super Mario Maker 2, Dragon Quest 11 S, (maybe) Astral Chain… add all of that to Luigi’s Mansion 3, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Yoshi’s Crafted World, and the rest, and we are in for an amazing year that might outdo 2017.

      1. The entirety of it was neither FANTASTIC or AWFUL. The entire Direct was average. I found it hard to seek excitement from it because most of the games did not interest me. You all need to respect that not everyone liked every game that was shown. However, just because I didnt like every single game in it doesnt make it a bad Direct either. It was kinda meh to me overall, but I still liked three things they showed off. That is really it though. I am stupidly excited for Mario Maker 2, I am in love with Fire Emblem Three Houses, and I guess Links Awakening Remake is pretty cool too. The art style puts me off, but I cant imagine it wont be fun. The Direct was neither really good or really bad. It was just pretty alright. And remember, your entire perspective changes depending on how excited you are for a certain game. My friend thought this Direct was amazing because Rune Factory 4 is coming back, and he loves that game. However, for me, I simply didnt find much excitement in the direct. It is simply a matter of perspective. Stop arguing like idiots over it.

        1. Some of these people can’t help it. They either have their head too far up Nintendo’s ass or too far up their OWN ass. They can’t just let people have their (negative) opinion. It’s why you see people being attacked for not liking The Last Jedi, Star Trek Discovery, & the list goes on & on. They either got their head up the company’s, their own, or some stupid social justice agenda’s ass instead of just accepting the fact that some people legitimately dislike something for, how they personally felt, having a bad story or bad content from their point of view.

      2. Yeah, this was one of the better ones. The only other two directs that were near this exciting for me were last September’s (for Luigi’s Mansion 3, Final Fantasy and Animal Crossing) and E3 2017, when Metroid Prime 4 was announced.

    1. I know. Feels real bad. If anything though the fact that so much other stuff was right I’m sure it’s coming. Maybe in the next Direct, hopefully.

  3. jesus… one of my favorite zelda games… but the art style kills it.
    i wanna black/white filter.
    it looks like plastique… arrrr

  4. Love the art style. At this point in time, with all the completely different art styles the Legend of Zelda has had, people should expect the unexpected. Regardless of whether you like the art style you know the gameplay will be great.

  5. Honestly, the artstyle of this game kind of fits Link’s Awakening. At the same time, it also feels out of place.

Anyway, if this is the start of some Zelda games getting actual remakes, the original Legend of Zelda & Link’s Adventure should be next in line on this Zelda remake list. While some Unreal Engine Zelda HD remakes of Ocarina of Time & Majora’s Mask would be nice, I’ve played them already from start to finish. I’ve tried playing the original two in their current NES form, but I just can’t seem to keep myself invested in them.

  7. I actually like the “Cute Toy” Style they did for this. Reminds me a lot of the Nintendo Land “Hyrule Adventure” Version. I’m actually looking forward to this one.

    1. Same. If it’s just the original game with 3D graphics, I won’t be in any rush to purchase it for my Switch. I adored the game when I was younger, but I tried playing it again a few months back (or a year back) and just couldn’t get into it. (I didn’t have this problem with the Oracle games when I replayed those a year or two ago. Same with Minish Cap & the other non-NES titles.)

        1. I just chalk my disinterest in Link’s Awakening to the fact it was practically a handheld version of the NES Zelda titles, so maybe this “remake” might be just what I need to be more interested in the game again when I play it.

          1. That’s surprising to me. I always felt that Link’s Awakening was much closer to Link to the Past than the NES titles. I always thought of it as the Majora’s Mask to Link to the Past. It’s so hard to be objective about things I liked as a kid though.
