More Information On This Month’s Nintendo Switch Online Games

After falling from Angel Land, the NES games launching on Nintendo Switch Online this month have landed on a tropical paradise. On March 13, classics Kid Icarus and StarTropics join dozens of other NES games as part of the Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online collection.

  • Kid Icarus – The evil goddess Medusa has stolen the Three Sacred Treasures and imprisoned the goddess of light, Palutena, in her evil plot to control all. Play as Pit, a young angel who has been entrusted with a magical bow and arrow. Fight against hordes of enemies that swoop from above and below. Secure the Three Sacred Treasures from their evil guardians, equip them and face Medusa in the final battle.
  • StarTropics – Step into the shoes of Mike Jones, a teenage star pitcher from Seattle, who has come to the tropics to visit his famous archaeologist uncle, Dr. Jones. After being told that his uncle has been abducted, Mike begins a perilous quest in order to rescue him and figure out the mysterious plot behind his disappearance. Luckily for Mike, he meets helpful villagers and finds more powerful weapons as he explores numerous locations and island hops using his uncle’s submarine.

These titles join the growing library of NES games with newly added online play on the Nintendo Switch system, which also includes more than 30 classics like Super Mario Bros.Donkey Kong and The Legend of Zelda that are available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online members.

    1. Is it really worth cancelling to save £1.50 a month? I get that people are disappointed in the service but what it does offer is definitely good value for what you get vs not having that stuff.

      1. Online gaming is still aweful because Nintendo is not providing any servers. Many games run like 10 FPS online most of the time. I only bought Nintendo Online because they forced me to but so far I got nothing in return. I don’t care for 30 year old games that I already own 10 copies each.

  1. which growing libary?
sorry… but one year a cuple of games?
in my childhood i hade about 12-15 Nes games but, we shared games so i did play arround of 100 Nes Games or more and now… a handfull games…
    creepy ninty stuff

    1. Growing means there are more now than when it started which is true. Again I get that you’re disappointed but you should know what you’re actually moaning about. I’m taking it that you’d prefer it to be growing at a faster rate and with other platforms included which is fair enough so more useful to just say that.

      1. my comment is a sarcastically…
i know thats growing… but with that speed…
I know its free playable games
        but honestly…
when bring a game… not just that game but the whole series…
startropic and startropic 2 (zodiac revenge)
        not only double dragon…
        double dragon 1-3
Shadow warrior (ninja gaiden) 1-3 because number 3 never was release in europe…
bring the series… that would be awesome.

  2. Kid Icarus is one of those games that will make you question the difficulty there is in Dark Souls.

Really, it’s all over the moment that Egg plant wizard successfully lands an attack on you.

It’s one of Nintendo’s most savage 2D action platformers.

It’s nice to finally see it on Nintendo Switch Online.

And I almost forgot how amazing its 3DS remake called Kid Icarus: Uprising, which is also a must get.
