Xbox Team: Cuphead On Nintendo Switch Getting Xbox Live Support In Coming Months

We found out during the Nindies presentation this afternoon that Cuphead is Nintendo Switch bound courtesy of StudioMDHR and Xbox. In a blog post on the official Xbox blog the company says that they are “investigate bringing Xbox Live features beyond Xbox and PC to Nintendo Switch.” The Xbox team also says that they are looking to implement Xbox Live features into Cuphead in the coming months. Cuphead launches for Nintendo Switch next month!

Growing out of these recent discussions, we are partnering with StudioMDHR to investigate bringing Xbox Live features beyond Xbox and PC to Nintendo Switch. Yes, this means that fans will now have the opportunity to experience StudioMDHR’s award-winning debut game on Nintendo Switch with Xbox Live! We’ll be working with StudioMDHR to implement Xbox Live features into Cuphead on the Nintendo Switch in the coming months. Given the early stage of our work with StudioMDHR, the Xbox Live features will appear in a post-launch update to Cuphead on Nintendo Switch. We’d like to thank Studio MDHR and Nintendo for their help in this investigation!

    1. They felt like they were on top of the world, and refused to play ball. Now they’re stuck playing with they’re shiny new ball… by themselves. Fuck em though, they have enough games, right?

  1. Honestly if Banjo gets in Smash I’m going to be annoyed because he SHOULD have got in Melee. He is long dead and there are way more popular characters in the modern era that beat him into Smash Bros. Wii Fit Trainer, Miis, Inkling etc are all very different in design to Banjo. If this was Gamecube I’d agree but Nintendo sold Rare and buried their DK legacy. Plus MS have just threw their franchises at a wall to see what stuck.

Rare were good for their time but its over. Inkling and Ridley show how much Smash Bros has changed and I’m hoping if MS and Nintendo came to some kind of deal it isn’t just Banjo because of some dream partnership that made a single system. There are far superior characters that could get in today.

    1. We are close my friend. They may reveal it after Joker got released. Also, there’s probably a new Nintendo Direct before E3.
