We found out earlier this month that both Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are getting Nintendo Labo VR Goggle support. Yesterday, the official Nintendo account uploaded a poster showing off the incredible Super Mario Odyssey using the Nintendo Labo VR Goggles. The Toy-Con VR Goggles will support both Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on 25th April. Here’s the poster along with a few screenshots!

Well said
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Nice 👌

I wonder what would it be like if Mario Odyssey VR is in first person.
I think Zelda Breath of the Wild VR would be amazing in first person.
I still look forward to it though.
It would be nice to get Minecraft in VR for a first person experience as well.
And yeah, I also Nintendo would consider a VR Mario Kart experience.

Top left screenshot: Wow, Mario. Cappy probably feels pretty left out right now. I thought Labo was supposed to be a SHARED experience.
I really like how Nintendo made some of its previous games VR compatible. It makes me tempted to pick this up and play those games all over again. I hope we also see VR options for Mario Kart, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Arms.
This isn’t VR!

VR is first person immersive. Not “put a screen on your face and change the FOV.” This is an attempt by Nintendo to jump on a buzz-word bandwagon to make some extra cash without having to do any actual investment into real VR hardware
So Google Cardboard, Oculus and HTC aren’t VR headset then since it’s just a screen on your face.
Sure just use part of my statement for your argument. That’s fine.
3rd person isn’t VR. It is 3rd person from a different angle or FOV. Cardboard, Oculus, Vive etc all are designed with the first person viewpoint for true VR where you are the character in the virtual environment, not standing behind the character in the virtual environment.
In the case of Zelda BoTW it’s true that it isn’t a proper VR experience but in the case of Mario Odyssey no it’s a VR experience.
Also to clarify here, I’m talking specifically about this Mario and Zelda “VR” thing they’re doing. Other aspects of Labo VR are actual VR implementations. They’re doing this half-ass Mario and Zelda thing to just get more people to buy it.
