During today’s Nintendo investors conference, the Kyoto-based company provided updated worldwide sales figures for the biggest Nintendo Switch titles. It’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which has proved to be the most popular game on the Nintendo Switch, despite being an updated port of the Wii U game. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is followed by Super Mario Odyssey and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Here’s the global sales of the Nintendo Switch best-selling video games so far:
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze: 2.25M
- Mario Tennis Aces: 2.64M
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 16.69M
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: 12.77M
- Super Mario Odyssey: 14.44M
- Splatoon 2: 8.7M
- Octopath Traveler: 1.17M
- Super Mario Party: 6.4M
- Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee!: 10.63M
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 13.81M
- Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 01: Variety Kit: 1.09M
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker: 1.18M
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: 3.31M
- Kirby Star Allies: 2.56M
- Yoshi’s Crafted World: 1.11M
Kirby Star Allies- 2.56 million.
You have no idea how much that figure makes me happy. After all the complaining of the game being called mediocre, I’m happy it reached the numbers it did.
Mario Tennis Aces- 2.64 million
Not bad at all for what has been on the lower end of the Mario spin-offs for a while. Would be nice if Camelot could put some of that money towards making a new Golden Sun.
>complaining
Sadly, we might have to face the harsh possibility that Golden Sun is dead. I don’t see Nintendo ever letting Camelot get back into the RPG genre. As far as they are concerned, they got enough RPGs under the Nintendo brand. After all, this is the same company that refuses to make another F-Zero game because of Mario Kart.
Never say never.
Hmm. I thought that Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle had sold well over 1 million. Guess not…
Maybe that’s because, this are only Nintendo-published titles? 🤔
It has, it is a Ubisoft title and therefore not mentioned here
This makes Smash Ultimate the top selling game in the series. Beating Brawl’s 13.30M.
I wish they would update Super Mario Party. There needs to be more game board maps and characters.
I can see SSBU catching up to MK8D at some point.
Not likely…. Mario Kart has always had longer legs than Smash.
Smash on Wii sold about 13m, Mario Kart on Wii sold around 24-30m (Not sure though)
But, You get my point yeah
If this was a brand new Mario Kart, I’d agree 100% but Ultimate is brand new & MK8D is just a re-release. The chances of SSBU either being on equal footing or even surpassing MK8D are higher this time around. I could ultimately end up being wrong (won’t be surprised if I do end up being wrong) but the chances are there even if possibly slim.
