If you play Team Sonic Racing on your Nintendo Switch, you may have noticed that the game doesn’t have an opening cutscene. According to SEGA, this was intentional. Other versions of the game have the cutscene, but SEGA told USGamer that “the intro cutscene was removed from Switch build of Team Sonic Racing due to the cartridge size restrictions. At this time, there are no plans to add the cutscene back in via patch”.
what even
that’s unfortunate, people will start complaining now that there are no plans to add the cutscene back in the game.
I’m sure they could have figured it out lol.
Swell………………
And this is why we have YouTube.
Translation:
“the intro cutscene was removed from Switch build of Team Sonic Racing due to laziness during development”
That’s not how it works.
Now, this may not seem like a big deal. I mean, it’s only a cutscene, right?
But this highlights a problem with the switch. This isn’t the first time there have been problems with games on the switch.
Some games make you download a lot before you can even play the game. Some games (such as this one) leave content out from other versions of the game.
I believe leaving content out on switch games is unacceptable, even if it’s only a cutscene.
I have heard that developers can pay more money to get cartridges that hold more, but then that would increase the price by a lot per cartridge.
I think the switch’s flaws include how much memory the cartridges can hold, the amount of storage the system gives you (LOL 32 gb? That’s a joke.) and I believe that even though it is a hybrid console, a beefed up, more powerful “pro” switch would be really nice, and could help developers as it would hopefully make the process easier.
Umm, a more power Switch doesn’t solve the issue that cartridges and especially mobile storage are expensive. That said, the next cartridge up from the one they are using cost $7 more to make, but also it’s $12 more than making a disk for it. It’s why you’ll see some switch games with a $10 mark up.
That does not bother me. I want some playable character dlc. I want 3 out the 12 characters: Sticks the badger, cream the rabbit, chaos zero, jet the hawk, wave the swallow, storm the albatross, Samba de amigo, billy hatcher, NiGHTS, Reala, ulala, and aiai.
That list is amazing sadly it won’t be happening as sega has already confirmed what you see is what you get
Is this game any good? I am hesitant due to Sonic team making it
In my opinion, it is a really good kart racer, with the team mechanics being very solid. Is the game on par with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? No, not really, but it is a nice change of pace if you’re in the mood to play an arcade kart racer that isn’t Mario Kart and don’t want to wait until Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled releases.
To those on the fence, the game is really fun! It’s an extremely competent kart racer and id recommend it to any one who is a Sonic fan. The soundtrack alone is amazing and the team mechanic isn’t just a gimmick. It adds an additional dimension to kart racing that definitely adds to the experience. Combine that with the extra story challenges and it makes for a nice single player experience that’s made even better with multiplayer. Also the soundtrack is amazing.
I think they should add it in a free DLC
They can’t its in impossible.
It’s not impossible since DLC would be saved on the console or SD card.
Sega: We wanted to cut costs for ourselves so we decided to give Switch owners less than other versions but are still charging them the same. We don’t care either.
They were able to scale everything down to work on the Switch but couldn’t figure out how to leave enough room for a cutscene?
I call shenanigans
If Super Smash Bros. Ultimate can hold over 900 songs, 74 characters, 103 stages and a story mode, I’m sure Sega could’ve fit the cutscene into their kart racer.
The game is only 9 gigs on PC…. Gonna have to call bullshit on that one. It’s Sega being cheap and lazy like usual. The game is the definition of mediocre.
I know right? I’m not gonna call them greedy as shit, but i think SEGA hid this from all of us so some of us didn’t see it. Beside’s this game is cheap to buy.

=b ignore this as a base comment, i didn’t realize my name wasn’t logged in on my phone and it errored screen and i guess when i hit back it moved it from being a reply to another comment to it jusg being a cimment about the post. I also don’t see a delete comment option.
This website doesn’t even allow you to delete comments period. You are lucky if you ask a mod nicely to delete your comment for you.
Mods on this site are generally cool though. I wouldn’t mind if I had to ask. Though, it’s just a minor inconvenience to me. I just let it go and not bother em bout it.
True that sexy. lol
This got me paranoid like “did something else got cut?”. I’ll get it on ps4 then.
Y’all don’t know how much Switch cartridges cost and it shows, its not laziness, its about cutting costs and cutting costs doesn’t mean laziness, laziness is a poorly optimized port which this isn’t. If it weren’t for the cost of cartridges this wouldn’t be a problem, any developer would cheap out, even Nintendo if it were about compressing and fitting as much of the game on the cheapest cartridge one could afford. Is them cutting the cutscene a big deal? Not really but it is a bit bothersome that theyhave zero plans to add it back in the form of a patch or free DLC. Boycotting the game won’t do anything aside from SEGA shying away from making games for Switch, the best way to get their attention is buying the game on Switch and be vocal to SEGA. Speaking of, this “no physical or no buy” on Switch needs to stop, it doesn’t make them wanna do physical games, it makes them not make games for it.
Well, that explains it. No wonder why i didn’t see it on Nintendo Switch version. This game was the cheapens game that i ever bought. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has a opening cut scene.
Well, it’s not like it was going to be a good racing game anyway. Just buy Crash Team Racing instead. You ain’t missing much. lol
