Nintendo’s annual E3 Direct may be over, but the fun is only just beginning. The E3 show floor is now open, and Treehouse streams will be occurring each day, with the last day being a focus on indie games. There will also be many interviews with the various Nintendo developers, such as Eiji Aonuma, Director and Producer of the Zelda Series. Aonuma confirmed that, while the sequel to Breath Of The Wild has a darker tone, “it’s not necessarily going to be related to Majora’s mask or inspired by it…What we showed you currently is a little darker”.
Aonuma also says that “like the tale of Skull Kid, this looks dark, odd, melancholy: the trailer’s haunting reverse-voiced soundtrack, subterranean locations, murdered rats, and reanimated mummified remains lend a much grimmer tone than you might expect of a follow-up to Nintendo’s pastel color masterpiece”. Unfortunately, because the game is still in production, Aonuma said that he cannot say much more about it.
Well that’s a major turn off…

Thank you. No one thought this was at all related to Majora’s Mask. Some writer at IGN pulled a story out of his behind about how it might be related to Majora’s Mask just because it’s a direct sequel to BotW. So then during their stream, they asked if it was related, and Aonuma gave this response.
IGN Logic: MM is a direct sequel to OoT, (this new game) is a direct sequel to BotW, therefore (this game) must be related to Majora’s Mask!
They didn’t say it was related to Majora’s Mask, they said it was analogous to Majora’s Mask, in that it 1. is a direct, sequel, 2. reuses assets, and 3. is darker in tone.
I hope the Sequel has dungeons and puzzles again. Now I got to try AMD figure a way to beat BOTW. I cant find those 12 memories. And I play it for hours and achieve nothing. But that’s just me. I have Luigi’s Mansion 3. And Empire of Sin.

Just watch YouTube videos to find the memory locations in BOTW. That’s what I did. I only found a few on my own.

I found them without any help and it didn’t take me too long. Have you looked around that much?
If you are having a hard time finding them, just look up their locations on Google or something. Hyrule is pretty big so there is no shame in looking for help in finding them.
Looked more related to the twili than anything majora tbh. I thought people were just mentioning majora because this seemed like a similar situation to majora’s reuse of assets and various other things from OoT.

lol. im partial to long hair, they could have braided them and it would have been swweeet.
I enjoy short hair but Zelda’s short hair looks kind of bad as that braid feels very out of place now without the longer hair.

No, you are not. I also think it’s gonna be Ganondorf. Sure we could end up being wrong later but that jewel on the mummy’s forehead was pretty Ganondorf-esque. Plus I’m assuming they found it where Calamity Ganon was fought since they were oh so clearly beneath Hyrule Castle so that gives the Ganondorf theory some strength behind it. Sure you fought Dark Beast Ganon in Hyrule Field but that was a body made purely of Ganon’s Malice, not his actual body.

honestly i dont know, sometime i write an essay (not to be confused with an ese) and its waiting for moderation and sometimes i type one word and its waiting to be moderated. all i know is that algorithm for triggering moderation is, shall we say, dyslexic.
This is the first time it’s been stupid like this for me. Usually, it’s terms that have certain s.ex terms in the spelling like sc.umbag, for instance. (Of course the last time I used sc.umbag, it didn’t trigger it so I guess WordPress removed it from the list of words that trigger it.

Sure we said the method of it’d development would be SIMILAR to Majora’s Mask, but nobody said Majora’s Mask itself would be INVOLVED.
He’s talking as if Majora’s Mask is the only Zelda game to be a direct sequel to a past Zelda game when that’s just not the case. Hell! It’s not even the only Zelda game to feature the same Link as a previous entry, either. Sure those games don’t outright say it but it’s pretty clear to anyone with a brain.

This is good news, as I didn’t care much for Majora’s Mask. It felt like a rushed, poorly executed, fan-made, knock-off. When it first released, I couldn’t believe how bad it was, especially after how great Ocarina of Time was, and I put it down. I heard nothing but complaints about it for months. Nobody seemed to like it either. Then, months later, out of no where, I started to hear people say that they actually started to like it. Then, I heard some start to say that they actually loved it. I was shocked. So, I went back, and started it again. Still wasn’t happy with it. But I decided to try and give it another chance. Tho I had lots of complaints about it. Eventually I put it down again, disappointed with it. I just wasn’t happy with it. It just didn’t feel like an officially license Nintendo product. Just felt like a cheap knock-off that was poorly done, and rushed just to cashed in on the popularity of the franchise.
After a while, I heard more and more people say that they liked it. So, since The Legend of Zelda is my absolute all-time favorite franchise, I gave it yet another chance. I decided to finally beat it this time, since I just gave up on it the previous attempts. Which I did finally beat. After finally beating it, I found I liked some individual parts of it. But overall, was still disappointed with the game. To this day, it’s still not even in my Top 10 Zelda games. I’ve now beaten it 7 full times, trying to give it chance after chance, to win me over. Still not even in my Top 10. Its not the worst Zelda game, but it’s definitely not high on my list either.
In no particular order, (so just in release order, to be impartial), my Top 10 Zelda games include… The Legend of Zelda (1st NES game), A Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening, Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Four Sword Adventures, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, A Link Between Worlds, and Breath of the Wild. In some particular order, these would all be in my Top 10. With A Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening, Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Breath of the Wild, all being in the Top 5, in some particular order.
I also like.. The Adventure of Link, I might even make that number 11, above Majora’s Mask, which would probably be at 12. But, to be fair, I have played, and own, but never beat, Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, The Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and Tri Force Heroes, and even Link’s Crossbow Training. So I don’t know for sure where those would fall in place at. I wasn’t a big fan of the touchscreen controls for Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. So I didn’t give either a fair chance, tho I’ve heard good things about both. I just couldn’t get past the controls, so I put both down. And I’ve only played the other 5 titles listed for a short time. Never had time to sit and dive fully into them. Maybe I’ll like them, maybe I won’t. But either way, I still put Majora’s Mask over them because I actually played and beat it (multiple times), and genuinely like a few specific things in it. But, as a whole, not a huge fan of the game. Refused to buy the 3D remake on 3DS too. Not wasting money on that.
As for Breath of the Wild 2, I have high hopes that it’s going to turn out great. I’m sure that they’ve learned their lessons from Majora’s Mask. Now, I know that I’m in the minority on Majora’s Mask, and that, for some reason, this generation loves the game. Some even say that they love Majora’s Mask as their all time favorite Zelda game. I just don’t get it. I wouldn’t even put it in my Top 10. So I get a lot of complaints and downvotes because of it. But I don’t mind people complaining to me about it, or downvoting me over my feelings on Majora’s Mask. I proudly stand by my statements. Even as unpopular as they are. So if you’re going to be mean, and make mean replies, and what not, know that it doesn’t bother me, and it won’t change my mind. I’ve given the game enough chances, so I stand firm in my convictions on it.
But either way, I do have high faith in Breath of the Wild 2. I’m definitely picking that up on day one. I’m also, on a side note, going to pick up The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake on day one too. My only gripe about the remake is the price. On the Nintendo eShop, on the Switch, it lists the remake as $59.99. I couldn’t believe it. I was expecting somewhere between $29.99 or $39.99. I thought that $49.99 would be pushing it, for what it is. So I was shocked when I saw it listed as $59.99 on Nintendo’s official eShop. I’ll still buy it either way, as it’s one of my Top 5 Zelda games ever. Price just seems a bit steep for it. Breath of the Wild 2 being that price I fully expect. But the Link’s Awakening remake?? Shocking. But I’ll still get it.
People like, dislike, love, hate what they like, dislike, etc. I LOVE Majora’s Mask but not everyone is gonna have the same sentiments. As long as you aren’t bashing anyone for having a different opinion, it’s whatever and shows you have some maturity (and have confidence in your own feelings, too.)
