During this evening’s Nintendo Treehouse Super Mario Maker 2 demonstration, it was announced that they will be “making some changes to matching with friends.”
Presumably this is due to the heat Nintendo received when they stated that you couldn’t play courses online with your friends, only randoms. It seems they are, or have been, working on a fix for this issue.
*scoffs* They damn well better be fixing that.

I’m glad they solved the Issue after they said we can’t play with friends online but now we can. They always have a good change of heart. :D
Good. Just because couch co-op is a thing doesn’t mean you should ignore online play with friends. With how connected we are today and being able to friend people even on the other side of the bloody planet, online play with friends is a must.
