Daemon X Machina – an upcoming action shooter for the Nintendo Switch – will have a competitive multiplayer mode in the future. During the Nintendo Treehouse stream, Marvelous confirmed that they are currently fine-tuning the competitive multiplayer mode, so even though it won’t be available on the game’s release date, it won’t be too far off.
The news follows promptly after the developers made changes to the game based on user feedback, including adding damage indicators and optional motion controls. Earlier in the stream, the developers discussed a number of gameplay elements, such as body modifications which enables the players to modify their arsenal to give them additional abilities – including increase of reload speed, stamina, reduced landing time and stronger combos.
Marvelous also touched upon multiplayer co-op play too, which will be available in the game at release. This enables players to team up – without the competitive nature – and play through quests to defeat bosses. According to the developers, you’ll also be able to collect blueprints from defeated bosses, allowing you to eventually recreate and use boss weapons against enemies. One thing fans can’t get enough of is the Hangar Dog, however. We’ve heard he’s just as cute as Jon Bernthal’s dog, the star of E3. But, of course, we’ll find out all of this and more when Daemon X Machina releases on September 13th.

Honestly, I have to say it’s a good thing that multiplayer isn’t there from day 1. It shows that they most likely put more time & effort into the single player experience first & foremost with the multiplayer being an afterthought.
I have to say, everything I hear about this game just makes me really want to play it. And the whole prototype version with feedback was a great idea.
