Update: XSEED has now confirmed that the game will come to the west.
Marvelous has given us all the first glimpse of Story of Seasons: Reunion in Mineral Town. The remake will be arriving first in Japan on the Nintendo Switch system and has a release date of 17th October. Marvelous has also stated that the game will be coming to the west, though they have yet to commit to a date. The company has also unleashed the debut trailer, which you can watch down below.
Story of Seasons: Reunion in Mineral Town is set in Mineral Town, where all sorts of unique people live. In order for the farm you once visited as a child to thrive again, a farm life full of spontaneity is about to begin. Grow vegetables and crops, tend to animals, fall in love with and marry one of the town’s residents, and enjoy life to the fullest in this heartwarming life game.
It’s BEAUTIFUL.
Also funnily enough, I was just checking the Bokumonogatari website a few days ago, wishing for another game like mfomt.

It could certainly look better on the Switch, but I guess for a niche title it’s alright. In movement it at least looks better than the still images.
Outside of the Rune Factory series, Friends of Mineral Town is my favorite Harvest Moon game.
And just think, we don’t need the GameCube HM game to unlock the cross-play content!
Ok, I’m lost: are we getting a Natsume-made Harvest Moon remake of Friends of Mineral Town, or are we getting a Marvelous-made Story of Seasons remake of Friends of Mineral Town? The past articles have said “Harvest Moon”, and Natsume is the owner of that name, so Marvelous has to use the original Japanese name of Story of Seasons

Looks more generic than I was hoping for. Here’s hoping the quality of the rest of the game still lives up to the original.
Stardew Valley: enough. I don’t exactly like the graphics of this Story of Seasons, too much feminine. I think I’ll stay with Stardew Valley.
