Nikkei: Nintendo moving Switch production to Vietnam

The Nikkei is reporting this morning that Nintendo is moving some of its production of the Nintendo Switch to Vietnam. This is due to the escalating Trump trade war with China which will see Chinese imports hit with huge tariffs. If things get worse, the Nintendo Switch and other video gaming systems produced in China could end up costing a fortune.

Currently, almost all Switches are manufactured in China by contract manufacturers including Hon Hai Precision Industry, also known as Foxconn. Their Vietnamese facilities will take over part of that work possibly within a few months.
