Nintendo fans received a surprise announcement from Capcom a few months back as a tonne of Resident Evil titles are now available via the Nintendo Switch eShop. NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella has revealed the top ten best-selling games via Twitter in the survival horror genre as tracked by the US data group and it comes as no surprise to see the Resident Evil series dominating. Here’s the top ten best-sellers:
- Resident Evil 5
- Resident Evil 4
- Dying Light
- Resident Evil 2
- Resident Evil 7
- Resident Evil 6
- Resident Evil 2 2019 remake
- Dead Space 2
- The Evil Within
- Resident Evil
I knew it wouldn’t be there, but I hoped that Dino Crisis could’ve taken one of the spots. Oh, well…
Which one is the scariest? I founf the first one more scary than the second
Love, love, love, the weapon progression system in the second though.
I remember the armor can be upgraded but even the weapons? The last time I played DC2 was 15 years ago. It’s been so many years
First one was definitely the most nerve-wracking. Remember I was so noob at the game as a kid that I spent all the ammo, so I just had to outrun every dinosaur, or make them sleep with tranquilizers xP
70% it’s only about Resident Evil
It’s best selling so of course it’s mostly Resident Evil as that’s the biggest survival horror franchise.
I understand this but it’s strange to not see a single Silent Hill game on this list
Sadly, Silent Hill is pretty niche in comparison to Resident Evil. Doesn’t help that they are also owned by a company that mostly sucks these days.
Konami isn’t entirely bad those times but it’s true that it’s seen as a bad company
You’d think with all the re-releases that Resident Evil 4 would be #1. How the hell did RE5 beat it?
They pumped a load of money into the overall budget and marketing on RE5 on the back of how well RE4 did.
Hey, where’s FNAF?
