Geoff Keighley has tweeted this afternoon that over 15 video game publishers including Capcom, Sony and more will be premiering new content and additional announcements during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event which will be streamed on Twitch and presumably YouTube on 19th August. As you can see from the image below there’s some big names there, but Nintendo isn’t listed.

I don’t remember Nintendo beign part of this event in those years.
Nintendo is at the event, they just don’t seem to be taking part in the Opening Night Live event :)

Wouldn’t it be cool if Doug Bowser crashed the opening night announcements with Pikmin and Metroid Prime (both 4 and HD trilogy)?
And yes, I’m aware that this is a pipe dream.
I’m sure Nintendo will be at Gamescom this year, also they may do another Indies Direct during that week as well.
