Half of Metroid Prime 3’s core team is still working at Retro Studios today

Metroid Prime 3 was released in 2007, but VideoGamesChronicle has discovered that a lot of the game’s core team is still at Retro Studios. They said that “a core team of around 50 people worked full-time on the 2007 Wii shooter and around 27 remain at the Texas-based developer”. In fact, 5 of the 11 designers that worked on Metroid Prime 3 are still at Retro, as well as “4 contractors that were made permanent”. As for the original Metroid Prime, which released in 2002, it is a different story. VideoGamesChronicle says that “less than ten of the 40-plus team members remain at Retro and virtually all of the lead creators have moved on”.

I can only hope they will make a good Metroid Prime 4 game.

  2. Well, a lot should of been thought of over the last 12 years since prime 3, regardless of who is still with the team or not.
I still believe that the prime 4 development belongs to retro and that they’ll take their time and deliver another unforgettable gaming experience.

    1. I don’t really care for anything related to them anymore, I got sick and tired of waiting every e3 before metroid 4 for them to announce anything..

The porting of DK TF is for letting more players to play the game. The sells of the Wii U were poor compare to the Nintendo Switch

      1. And yet Nintendo had time to make Splatoon 2 and Mario Maker 2 and Smash bros Ultimate exclusive to Switch. And new Yoshi but they had rather had ported Tropical Freeze over to the Switch than make a all new one because the sells of the Wii U were low.

That make mo sense. If I was the head of the video game department I’m telling them to get off their lazy asses and make games immediately. If they did that we would had been at Metroid Prime 6 and Pikmin 6 by now. And a all new Donkey Kong by now. Yet they can make Mario Olympics, Mario Tennis and Mario Party games immediately .

So why they dont port Mario Olympics, Mario Tennis and Mary Party from the Wii U? Yet port over Mario Kart 8 the best selling Mario Sport game.

Nintendo has different teams working on different titles. Smash Ultimate is a game made by Namco Bandai so this is a collaboration of two companies. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze was loved so much by fans and since is a good game they decided to port it on the Switch. Why they didn do that on some games like Mario tennis? Because fans didn’t like it. A game that doesn’t enjoy players will not change much on a new console. That’s why they ended up developing new games for the Switch why porting the best from the Wii U like:
          DK TF
          MK8
          Hyrule Warriors
          Captain Toad
          etc

      2. Why would I pay 59.99 for the same tittle I purchased Necause fans didnt like Mario Tennis so that’s why they didnt port it? So then why didnt they make a Mario Super Strikers? Fans asked for that 3 generation consoles ago.

      3. Yet Yoshi Wooly Yarn didnt get ported they just made a sequel.

And why doesnt Ubisoft make Mario Rabbids 2 and Rayman Legends 2. Instead like Nintendo lazy and just port Rayman Legends to the Switch. And look how long it too them lazy developers to make Luigi ‘s Mansion 3. They great game sell millions and dont make a sequel right away.

Mario & Rabbids was in develop during the lifetime of Wii U. Making videogames isn’t simple those days.
Nintendo doesn’t make sequels immediatly because they focus on familiar franchise like Mario and XeZelda because those are the most recognize series from Nintendo.
          .

      4. @P Edward I meant I dont really care for any information coming from them anymore, if they drop a trailer that’s probably the only way I’ll be hype up for their games..

  3. And what strange they started on BOW2 immediately. But they cant make an all new Pikmin 4 .

And why cant their lazy selves port Gamecube and wii games to Switch?

It must be nice to make a game and get paid 70K a year and only work every 5 years. Because once they make a game they don’t do nothing they just wait 5 or 6 years for no reason. Why cant we get a Splatoon 3 for Switch? Why should I have to pay $300 or $400 per sequel?

    1. Nintendo always has some game ready to go whenever, but they’re pacing the launches. Sometimes has Nintendo rushed too many titles at once, and it has bit them in the as*. That said I feel they could’ve released a bit more games at times.

  4. And word of advice Gamefreak, once Sword and Shield debuts dont waste time work on the next Pokemon tittle immediately. If 3DS had multiple Pokemon tittles why should we pay $359 per Pokemon tittle now?
Sit around there make a great game then dont do nothing until 7 years later.

  5. As glad as I am to have them making Metroid Prime 4, I rather wish that the rumored Star Fox racing game had come out.
Also, I really hope that Retro Studios develops an updated HD Metroid Prime Trilogy next.
