Shantae 5 has been renamed to “Shantae and the Seven Sirens”

WayForward has shared new details on the fifth installment of the Shantae series. The game is now called “Shantae and the Seven Sirens”. WayForward says that the game “sends the belly-dancing, hair-whipping, half-genie hero to a tropical island where Shantae and her friends encounter other Half-Genie allies, but they soon learn there’s trouble in paradise”. The game will feature “all-new dance abilities and instant-transformation Fusion Magic”, as well as “a new collectible card system that grants players the freedom to augment Shantae’s powers to suit their own style of play”. The game will be releasing on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Apple Arcade. No release date was announced.

  1. Man, I’m really looking forward to this game ever since I replayed The Pirates Curse. Hope it turns out great.

What I really want from new Shantae games is the return to the Pixel Art style. I prefer this type of art instead of the art used in the new entries.

      1. Why not combine them somehowlike ‘The Messenger’. It really grew on me because of it’s peculiar mechanic of switching between 8-bit and 16-bit.

      2. This game will be something promising that WayForward has to offer. But, i know this game is gonna be delayed like the last Shantae game they announced. The name for the new game is really catchy.

A delay is always good. A rushed game is always bad.

  2. I am so hyped for this game! I hope all the main characters are playable! Also, I want Shantae in Smash Ultimate!
Honestly though, Shantae is a great series with a great cast of characters.
And she should be in Smash.

    1. Fair shout.
Aslo maybe the next character reveal will be female, all been male so far ( well technically we don’t know what sex piranha plant is).
